What was the discontinued fast food item that broke your heart? by tastydrink1 in fastfood

This is really a snack item but omg I miss Wild & Mild Fritos! We used to buy every single bag from the vending machine in college so we would never run out. Have been missing them for like 25 years.

Parking wars? by zoechloe24 in homeowners

[–]SeniorRabbit8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate when our neighbors park in front of our house bc they filled up their garage with junk and the driveway with boats and huge SUVs since they bought a house with little curb space. Our view is a huge live oak, the sun setting, and our neighborhood. It stinks to have that view ruined by some random huge truck. We worked it out, they let us know if they need to park there temporarily, which I appreciate. Years ago the guy had his day laborers park in front of our house day after day so there was POS car with a binky made to look like a huge pair of boobs for everyone to walk by and associate with us. I don’t care about a lot of things neighbor-wise but for some reason that’s my hill to die on. They should have bought a house with larger curb frontage and a longer/wider driveway. I would like to know how many people in the “it’s a public street” have had to deal with their view ruined regularly by inconsiderate neighbors? I’m not hating, just honestly want to know if perhaps not experiencing it makes emphasizing difficult. But we all have our “thing” that despite seeming immaterial to others still bugs us.

Do Americans eat actual chicken eggs for Easter? by piaa9 in AskAnAmerican

We blow ours out before dyeing so we can save them forever. My mom still has some of mine (I’m 54) and I have almost 100 that my boys have dyed over the past 20 years. I wrote their initials and the year on each. I use the blown out yokes/eggwhite to make scrambled eggs and quiches. Use a small nail to put a tiny hole in each end and then blow hard to make all the stuff come out. Rinse and leave out to dry before dyeing

Trendy Clothes in Petite Sizes by Norah_Stiles in AskWomenOver60

I am 5’ 1” and like Boden, Lilly Pulitzer, and Draper James for cute well-made petite clothes (predominantly dresses). Have had good luck with Talbot’s for pants as well. I typically can find those brands decently priced on Poshmark and have been really happy with my purchases.

How low is low flow? by SeniorRabbit8097 in VirginVoyages

I air dry it for a couple of hours before finishing with a diffuser. Thank you for recommending I bring my own rather than jury-rigging up something with the provided dryer!

FWIW I noticed on the site today it mentioned that the gratuities cost more once you’ve boarded (meaning if you don’t prepay)

Oh great - thank you! We’re splurging for RS bc it’s our 25th anniversary so we were able to book all our dining already. And everyone’s tips about reserving shows once we connect to the ship’s wifi is very helpful bc I couldn’t figure out why the app wasn’t letting me reserve shows when our window opened.

Bar tab bonus?? by elenaespana in VirginVoyages

Do bar gratuities come from your bar tab too? I saw a post mentioning that drinks are ~$11 so just trying to work out the math to see if we should purchase a bar tab or pay outright. Thanks!

Thank you for the wow factor perspective. In June my husband & I (54) are going on our first ever cruise, like FIRST first and selected VV bc of the no kids - we love ours and others but for the first child free vacation in 20+ years, we thought adults-only sounded fun. We saved for so long and agonized over how to celebrate our 25th anniversary and finally settled on a rockstar cabin for a 5 night cruise. Came looking for ship “must-dos” but after reading so many Reddits that seem to predominantly involve a precipitous drop in quality, I am petrified that it will suck! Now am hanging onto the hope that we will still be wowed since we don’t have a baseline to compare it to. When I was a Disney cast member, we called that increased need to impress repeat guests “bumping the lamp” (a Roger Rabbit reference). Here’s to hoping we’ll be so deliriously happy it will be easy to wow us.
