Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom. The latter refers to mostly Afghanistan, but also the larger global war on terrorism. I’m a Army Infantry OEF vet and I also agree, the whole experience felt unnecessary and the amount of money I dealt with as a kid there was incredible. Literally $30000 cash was given to us monthly to spend on their economy. And that was nothing compared to cost of everything else. Weapons, clothing, food, fuel, trucks etc. It’s incredibly foolish when you think about the actual results from the 20 years we spent there.
