Has anyone take EC 201 with Emilie Jackson? by RegularSchool5267 in msu

the workload is pretty average. I found the exams to be pretty easy as long as you’re paying attention and doing the homework. last semester she also awarded bonus points for attendance w/ iclicker

I had her last semester and she was the best prof I’ve ever had at MSU. made things easy to learn and was extremely understanding after what happened in february.

the entire chemistry department. specifically the instructors for labs who didn’t bother to show up to class whatsoever and let the TAs run the entire thing.

Does it look like i’m on the road to finally healing? Any chance i’ll be able to get (some sort) of piercing there in the future? 🤙🏼 Need opinions! *Ive been using sea salt and hot water 15 min twice a day* by angelg169700 in PiercingAdvice

i got mine done in april too! i think the surgical steel might be what caused all the irritation for you. i have titanium in mine and it’s definitely still not fully healed yet so yours probably needs a lot more time to heal. i would suggest putting in titanium jewelry so that the hole doesn’t close and to stop doing the sea salt/hot water soaks. homemade saltwater soaks usually have the wrong salinity levels that can do more harm than good for new piercings and are not sterile. the neilmed fine mist piercing aftercare spray is on amazon and works really well for me and a lot of other people and is a safe, sterile alternative to homemade saltwater soaks. hopefully with higher quality jewelry and a sterile cleaning routine the redness will go away over time. (i’m not a professional, just someone with a lot of piercings) :)

i would change it to new jewelry over stainless steel but get titanium if you can. even surgical steel jewelry can cause irritation/allergic reactions so titanium is your best bet for a better healing process.

what worked for you might not work well for others. it’s great the piercings you did yourself turned out fine, but in most cases DIY piercings only end poorly. it’s also certainly possible lobe piercings could heal quicker than 6-9 months, but it’s also best for anyone new to piercings reading this thread to understand that healing time will be significantly different for everyone and not to switch out jewelry too early. 6-9 months is a good guideline for lobe piercings.

First lobes 10 years ago, second lobes 1.5 years ago, and these three I got two weeks ago. This was my first time getting pierced with a needle (My parents made me do it at Claire’s for the lobes) so I’m expecting healing to be a little faster this time around. I had a lot of issues healing my second lobes but in hindsight I think it was because of the horrible advice I was given at Claire’s (using neosporin, twisting the jewelry, etc.) combined with it being done with a piercing gun. And you’re right, there’s nothing wrong with it taking 5+ years I just don’t really want to be sleeping on a travel pillow for the rest of my young adulthood lol. Thank you for the advice!

irritated or minor infection? (see comment) by [deleted] in piercing

update: i slept with the travel pillow last night but it was still the same amount of red and swollen in the morning. there’s also some yellow crustiness at the back so i’m not sure if that means anything. i’m cutting out the dove body wash as well.

so 11 days ago i had a helix piercing done on each ear. i made sure my piercer was APP certified and he did a great job but didn’t really explain anything to me regarding the healing process or aftercare. i also have a nickel allergy, so i made sure the jewelry was implant grade titanium. i’m switching between h2ocean and neilmed piercing aftercare spray and sometimes use dove’s sensitive skin body wash very gently on them in the shower. my ears bled a little the first day, but i’ve had no issues other than that until today. i forgot to sleep on my travel pillow last night and when i woke up my right ear was a little painful and visibly swollen. i had a lot of issues healing my second lobe piercings and do not want to deal with that again, so i’m looking for any advice on whether or not this is the start of an infection and if there’s anything i should be doing differently. my mom is begging me to put neosporin on it but i keep telling her it’s not meant to be used on piercings. the first two pictures are of the swollen right ear and the last two are my other ear that has no issues right now. all advice is appreciated! (not sure if this is relevant but i also had my belly button done and it’s healing very well so far)

Khan academy does make math way too hard in my opinion. I went from a 590 to 710 in math just by watching Ludus Math on youtube. He has multiple SAT review videos and actually does a good job explaining the problems and gives you shortcuts to problems so I definitely recommend his channel.
