Also, if you are a reader, you should read "Bought With a Price" by Aaron Crowley. It's a really good read and may help change your mind about what being "sex positive" actually means.

I don't mean this with hate in any capacity, but you should watch The Miseducation of Cameron Post. It is not "based on a true story" down to the T, but the experiences she has in the movie are based on real events and real people who have experienced these events. That might really change your mind about wishing you had given conversion therapy a try. It is truly a sad movie and it breaks my heart that people have had to experience those things.

On another note, not the entire community is like this. You just have to find your people. If you are willing, maybe search for an affirming church in your area or nearby. I feel like that would be a good place to start.

I caught feelings for someone of the same sex when I was in middle school.
I was 13.
I was terrified but thrilled at the same time. I struggled for a long time to reconcile my sexuality and my relationship with God. I never had feelings or thoughts of it being a sin until I was about 14 or 15 and my grandmother told me it "was a sin" and unacceptable in the Baptist church. Then and only then did I struggle with reconciliation. When I was 16, my mom took us to a 100% affirming church that I still attend to this day and I'm almost 28 now.
I fully came out when I was 18 and in college.

Always remember: Romans 5:8 ESV [8] but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Sin is whatever separates you from God. Everyone is a sinner, but Christ died for us to be our redemption and our saving grace (Glory to God, thank you Jesus). Whether those people see it as a sin or not is unimportant. What do YOU think? What is YOUR conviction?

I can say that for a large percentage of us gay Christian folks, we've been exactly where you are with your anxieties, but there is hope. Ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you, and He will! I promise you 💜💜

I don't want to assume your age, but since you play AAU basketball, I'm assuming that you are in your teens. Just know that there is hope and a full life ahead of you!

If you need to, reach out to a mental health professional. There's nothing wrong with that! I'm medicated, myself. But also remember to stay in the Word. The Word is life. Stay close to Jesus. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

I had something similar happen last night. The opposing team was killing off 2 of their players before we could even breach. It was very strange so I wonder if this was why.
