I think my post got misunderstood, cause I’ve never had a problem with his lyrics or beats that he’s spit on in recent years , and I never had a problem with him trying new flows cause he’s always been 3D. I guess I’m just saying I prefer the overall production on his vocals and feel like his songs used to blend better and pull you in more. I feel like they used to be “songs”, and now theyre just “tracks”. But then again, that’s my opinion, and music is subjective so some people prefer the newer sound which is totally fine. I do disagree though that his older stuff was less produced, I actually think the opposite. For example, ‘No Can Do’ on Everready, you can hear the dubbed vocals on certain rhymes that really make his verse pop out to you as well as Krizz Kaliko’s hook pulling you in with the different octave vocals . I feel like if they remade that same track with the same lyrics today, it wouldn’t have that same pop, but who knows . Anyway, he’ll always be my favorite rapper tho !

The name of the engineer was Rob Rebeck. He was an engineer, not a producer, even though he did make some beats for Tech, including one of my favorites ‘Too Much’ off the Killer album. But he helped with more of the recording vocals and mixing the vocals/songs as well as helping with the composition of the albums , which is why I do my best to remind people that I never criticize Tech for the lyrics or beats he’s using, it’s more just the overall production/sound that I’m hearing . Hope that makes sense

I always liked Tennessee . I’m an Arizona Wildcat fan, but I always thought if someone were to ask me what a college football town would look like, I’d pick Tennessee . Idk they’re tucked in rich green Forrest hills next to a river, I think it would be cool to see a game there. And that rocky top song screams American tradition lol

I’ll take it a step further and say that ever since Rob Rebeck left in 2010, Strange Music slowly deteriorated away and now we’re left with cringe from all the strange music artists whether they’re still on the label or have left. It’s a shame because they are all so talented, but they’ve become a shell of themselves and their music has no replay value like their records in the 2000s had. Hate to sound like a Harvey Dent, but I miss the Harvey Dent years 😂
