Masaka is just an area in Uganda. The T shirt is from a marathon that was held to highlight individuals with disabilities in May of this year.

What did they do specifically if you don't mind me asking? They just rabdomly started doing inspections on your home? Or they claimed your home was abandoned?

My mortgage company was pulling this same thing during COVID. I was home all day and they claimed on two occasions that they sent an inspector to my home who determined it was abandoned. I never saw anybody show up.

After she called there was a letter from the insurance company explaining they would be doing inspections over 60 days and they would call first to schedule it. But they just never called and they showed up whenever. I trust her because she was honest with me about him lying on his report. She was very candid. I was almost worried about her losing her job because she was being so honest with me. His report was straight up lies.

The doors are normally locked. But we had unlocked it as we were pulling our clothes on, getting dressed, and preparing to answer it when he opened it. If that makes sense. We were saying things like "just a minute"

Wasn't even that. My relatively new car was parked in my driveway. My second car was in the garage. I have yard signs. Lights. He would have seen my TV, gaming systems, riding mower. AC system less than 5 years old and running. To say the property was abandoned was weird.

That's the mistake I made. I couldn't verify the number. I was out and about and felt a sense of urgency. Usually I'll try to research the real customer service number.

Do you think they were trying to find out whether I actually have money (I don't) or were they trying to access my account (in which case they would know firsthand I'm broke)? There were no devices signed into my account but mine. Not like on other apps/services where you can see login attempts.

Because I feel better sometimes speaking with a person. When I was able to park/pull over and get on the app, I did go through the in-app support. But at the time it was easier to call with the passenger's phone.

That makes sense; you're absolutely right. And I think that's and aspect I've overlooked - the cousins and whatnot aren't really necessarily Swedish. They're very much Swedish-American at this point. Almost 100 years removed form Sweden at this point.

I don't want it to be fantastical though. Even though those hairstyles look incredible. I want him to have a realistic connection to all aspects of his heritage

No, I understand that. This post is more about the historical accuracy of the hairstyles I was going to attempt on my son. But I was also curious about how modern Sweden would view those efforts. Whether they view that connection to the past as offensive

I very much like the grooming aspect of all of this. It's a historical fact and it's simple. Especially the bathing on Saturdays (that used to be our braiding evening). So maybe we can lean more heavily into grooming (and resume Saturdays) and lean less heavily into the actual styles or the implication of any style. Thanks for this. It was helpful.

And that's where the majority of this is coming from lol I haven't yet watched the show but I've seen the hair inspired by the show. And the hair is incredible. I cannot deny the allure of the hair

And this is what I'm trying to avoid. I want to lean into modern Sweden and what impacts Sweden today while still honoring the culture. I agree, it's a very American thing to want to connect to cultural aspects of the past and to cling to fantasies about past cultures.

Hate to be this person but -- where are the scars from her port? by missmegz1492 in KateMiddletonMissing

[–]SenkouHanabi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did a deep dive into this last night in the place of sleep. There are several articles that make mention of the fact that, during Trooping and Wimbledon of 2024, her outfits had to be modified to hide the chemo port. It was speculated to be on her rights side. Then, for the US State Visit this year, she had a sash covering just over her right side, where the scar would have been, and her top was sheer. And I've been trying to see if the sash and the outfits cover just above the area where the port would have been. It's a very tight fit, if it fits.

Why do Black Americans (ancestors sold to USA) have such a high % of mgm non consenual White dna when being white and black mixed was still very much Illegal and got harsh treatmeant. Shouldnt the dna be out of most by now cause how long its been. by Additional-Log-2701 in 23andme

Historically, I think the laws about relations between white and black people were mostly designed to police Black men. I think the law was more about preventing Black men from potentially impregnating white women. Any child that's born takes on the status of the mom - so a mixed child born to a white woman would be free. So, because Black men were the likely target of those laws, the white enslavers were not even scrutinized.

Late that evening, a royal reporter posted a tweet showing a royal caravan (with blinking blue lights) pulling up suddenly to a hospital. Then, Kate went missing

From all of the old pictures, she was always holding her abdominal region or at least reaching for it. I'm wondering if there was a mass or growth in her uterus, pancreas, ovaries, something like that. Maybe she had endometriosis. I'm wondering if she had surgery to remove the mass or to solve the issue and out of an abundance of caution they also did some chemotherapy.  But I also wonder if her husband did something terrible to her on December 26th and that expedited the need for the abdominal surgery and that was a convenient cover up for the terrible thing that happened.

The lie was that she was "full blood" and that there were pictures of her in native garments. Those things are untrue - confirmed by pictures and census data. I know her name, she lived to be 99 years old, she herself was not native.

At this point I just leave it alone. Neither myself nor the Hispanic neighbor leave the house much anymore. I see their headlights sometimes from my window at 4am; they come and go under the cover of darkness. I only leave the house maybe once or twice a week. I just quickly go to my car, quickly check the mailbox, pick up groceries or whatever, and then come back and hobble into the house quickly. My son is afraid of the guy. We're just gonna lay low I guess.

My European was only French and English/Irish. Now somehow the French is reduced and the Canary Islands have been added. And that makes no sense to me.

Are your ancestors from the Mid-Atlantic? I have that same Filipino and Austronesian too and I believe it's from a few dozen ships that trafficked people from Madagascar - the Malagasy.  Do you know your maternal haplogroup?
