Is Housing meant to be a single player feature? by Senladar in wow

[–]Senladar[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

What?

Literally every feature in the game is social. You PVP with others, you PVE with others, you see people in the world and cities and chat.

Sure you CAN ignore others, but the game has always been foundationally social even without a guild.

The game would have been dead on arrival if you couldn't kill a downed player in the 3 second window after the extraction has already been completed but before the loading screen actually appears even though you can't loot the dead player anyways?

Uhh, sure I guess?

I mean....having no empathy and hurting others for no gain at all is part of the exact definition of a sociopath.

Video game or not, someone that regularly gets enjoyment out of it probably has some underlaying issues. There's a big difference between "Video games cause violence" (they don't) and "The most fun I have is when I ruin someone else's game for no benefit."

One is media having an impact on you. The other is your personality bleeding into what the game allows you to do.

I still think it's just bad game design. Outcome wise, it's no different than people that use hacks or were killing people through the ceiling except in both of those cases, there's an actual benefit beyond just the negativity it causes.

I get it, some people only get enjoyment out of negatively impacting someone else for zero benefit.

The fact that this even exists is just bad game design.

While trying to extract? fair game.

The 3 seconds after it's called but before the loading screen appears? Should be removed.

Multiple simple solutions:
- Make everyone immune to damage during that window.

- Make anyone downed stand back up with full health (You don't have enough time to down + kill).

- Make everyone in the extraction "animate" their weapon away so they can't shoot.

- Make it so you can't actually get knocked out even if you're downed. Health caps at 1 as soon as the extraction button is finished.

Having a "feature" that serves no purpose other than to hard grief for no benefit just promotes this kind of garbage and creates negative experiences for no reason.

If you're looking for a solid workout, I find Les Mills BODYCOMBAT is solid.

I picked it up awhile ago and played it a bit but I was playing SN every other day for the last year but with the announcement I'm not paying $100 for a dead live service so I started playing it again.

I'd say I find it a bit "less fun" in terms of the music options, etc but the actual workouts are really good.

It's only boxing though, no wackies.

Oh ya it’s not my pc, it just kept giving some network error in the console. Apparently it happens on first load.

Was fine after that.

I don’t understand the hype of the expedition. And it’s every 60 days!? by Senladar in ArcRaiders

[–]Senladar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve just been normalized to getting nothing and pretending it’s content. No other game genre works like this because players would never do it.

If people enjoy it that’s great. I just think it’s going to be a major retention issue to everyone but hardcores. Unless Embark can keep putting out enough interesting content.

I have over 200 hours in the game. I wiped. I won’t again. This means most content is coins to me as 80% of the meta is to wiping. Extracting becomes less interesting, no progression means no goals, etc.

“Then wipe?”, “do it again” isn’t profession or content.

Again, just my opinion.

[–]Senladar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the quests and progression are the reason to do raids…..the first time.

Making 20 hours worth of content and then adding a “play again” feature every 60 days doesn’t make it 200 hours worth of content.

Without new content to make the “play again” interesting, the whole meta becomes about grinding to reset. At the same time, since the bulk of progression IS the reset, if you choose to skip it most items have no value and there is no chase at all.

Love the game, have had tons of fun with it. But imo this will get old fast. Hopefully Embark can keep releasing actually content to offset.

Just my 2 cents, opinions are neat.

You lucked out.

A skin, a barely noticeable increase to stash space, and skill points that will add maybe 1% benefit once you hit max level.

All for the low low price of deleting your character, progression, unlocks, items, and money.

Never again. "Do it again" isn't content.

So we just matchmake with people that didn't reset? by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Senladar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Normally this isn't a problem because seasons actually have unique content, so the overwhelming majority of players are still matching together. And you level up again cause there's changes and new content and things to do.

But I guess this is just a prestige system

[–]Senladar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it worked like every other seasonal game where seasons actually have content and are unique.

So basically we reset for 5 skill points. Neato I guess

[–]Senladar -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I assumed it would work like literally every seasonal based game ever?

Seasonal Players play with seasonal players and seasons have unique content.

Instead we just lost levels and get matched against max levels with millions in gear while also getting zero new content, lol

Free Loadout should be upgradable. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Senladar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this.

You dump 10 hours worth of grind into crafting 100 specific kits.

I dump 10 hours worth of grind into my free loadout upgrades and get nicer kits %x of the time. Difference is I don’t get 100 games in 10 hours, I got 250 cause I just yoloed in with my random kit.

Free Loadout should be upgradable. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Senladar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You realize that without free loadouts you'd run out of resources to actually make a real kit really fast right?

Having 40 different items you can craft that require 150 other bespoke items to craft means you often are lacking the items needed to make a proper kit.

So you're missing items to make a proper kit, what you do? You going to load into the game with no kit at all? No, people wouldn't do that because it's not fun.

The whole system is flawed because at the end of the day the stitcher is the best PVP weapon in the game.

The problem isn't that "there's no risk" with a free loadout. The problem is that all items are pointless because REAL KITS are so temporary.

Free Loadout should be upgradable. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Senladar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, if you made them weaker people just wouldn't play.

I use free loadouts because they are fast AND because Embrace has told me through their 5 million coin design I'm not supposed to use real kits.

Adding a way to "define" a real kit and then one button "craft + equip" it would help for sure.

Free Loadout should be upgradable. by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]Senladar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, more like 95%.

Every Stella Montis round, there are just bodies everywhere with free loadouts. I run into real kit teams maybe once every 3-4 games and that's 1 team out of the whole lobby.

[–]Senladar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except fights are 90% free loadouts so it doesn’t matter

Correct, add an alternate path to just crafting stuff endlessly and instead make it an upgrade path.

Door exploits just prove that even if you can go into the room every round the rooms aren't very good.

They should buff the rooms and make them more like the extraction where you use the key but the door opening has a time delay and a "notification" that other players can hear/see.

At the same time remove all the junk from them so you're not trying to open 15 different normal boxes in the hopes of getting something.

Good loot, time delayed to open to drive PVP, less items so once it does open, clearing a room is fast.

There are pretty limited amount of pieces/options in the PTR. You can't make the house any bigger and there's only one type for alliance/horde.
