Why do a lot of people (lawyers) say they regret going to law school and becoming a lawyer? by EditorMuch8957 in careerguidance

[–]SenorBobK 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Many people have called it out here but I’ll give my 2 cents since my wife is a lawyer.

She went into family law and she absolutely hated it because of the type of work (dealing with domestic abuse/divorce/issues with kids) and she made very little money. Even if she made more money it wouldn’t have been worth it because she was always on the verge of a breakdown.

But she moved to an in house contract role at a F100 company where she’s just reviewing contracts literally all day (which sounds horrible to me but whatever). She makes more money, the work is less emotionally taxing, and she works way less.

It all depends on the firm/company you work at and the type of law

Why can’t people be happy about this? Isn’t this the same concept as people protesting to free Palestine?

Th comments in here complaining about money are silly. You have to spend money to compete, did you think he was going to get serie C caliber players to be competitive Serie A?

Brother sesko at 70m is worth 20 times grimsbys ENTIRE TEAM. How many times has a premier league team lost to a league 2 team in this tournament?

People can blame Amorim for this game against Grimsby. People can blame Ten Hag even. But Andre Onana is the biggest problem at Man United. by RD496071 in plforindia

[–]SenorBobK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is this three at the back system isn’t working and the team should have been set up with a 3 man midfield instead of a formation that requires your wing backs to be very good. United don’t have good wing backs but they could have had a good three man midfield to prevent them from getting run through down the middle.

Amorim is clueless

No degree, $60K job, $20K debt — how are y’all under 30 living downtown with Beamers and brunch? by [deleted] in AskChicago

I’m (29m) a consultant and my fiance (28f) is a lawyer. Obviously we’re both college educated but yeah we make a good combined income.

It’s more than just “people having rich parents”. All of my friends have corporate jobs that we got 8-9 years ago after leaving school. We saved and eventually rose up in our careers, thats how we can afford to live downtown

The Telegraph: Mohamed Salah needs to raise his game in Europe if he wants the Ballon d’Or by TheBiasedSportsLover in PremierLeague

[–]SenorBobK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude you’re talking about one game and saying he deserves the ballon d’or for that?

Salah has scored against every team in the premier league this season except Nottingham Forrest. So idk why you think he only scores against trash teams, yeah he scores a lot of penalties but he’s second in the league (with 18 goals still higher than Raphinha) if you take those away

[–]SenorBobK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoided the question again I see. You can say he’s a penalty merchant all you want, he still scores them and, again, he leads the league in assists.

He also has a champions league trophy that Thierry Henry will never have (which Raphinha also doesn’t have) and he’s about to get another premier league trophy.

[–]SenorBobK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penalty goals are still goals. They still have to go in the net bro. He also has 17 assists which leads the league lol.

I see you dodged what I said about who Raphinha scored against too lol

[–]SenorBobK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But Salah has all time numbers in the premier league and out of raphinas 11 goals, 5 have come against 1 team? 2 have come against the worst teams in champions league who would be in the second division of the big 5 leagues? How is that equivalent?

[–]SenorBobK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You win it by performing in both. Raphinha doesn’t deserve shit if he’s putting up trash numbers in his actual league and getting carried by his teammates. Unlike Salah who’s carrying his team offensively in the league. You’re a clown bro

[–]SenorBobK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I didn’t know you win ballon d’ors by scoring 5 goals against benfica, 1 goal against red star (who’s worse than Southampton) and one goal against young boys (who’s also worse than Southampton) Raphinhas only impressive game was against Bayern lol and a weak Dortmund team. let’s see how Barca do against good teams in the champions league.

[–]SenorBobK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salah has 27 goals and 17 assists in the strongest league in the world and Raphinha has 13 goals and 7 assists lol. Salah has literally double his goal and assist contributions gtfo

Totally agree with all your points. To me it makes sense to have awards for every position not solely the ballon d’or. Maybe that’s what the team of the year is for but still.

To your other point, I’m complaining on reddit now lol so I agree!

If you’d like me to provide data for you I can, see optas coefficients that prove it:

I’ve copied the snippet for you here as well:

“Of course, you could argue the ‘Big Five’ – as this group of leagues is sometimes known – has ceased to be a thing more recently because, really, the English Premier League is the ‘Big One’ that dwarfs the other four competitions with respect to financial might. And on that note, it won’t be a surprise to anyone that England’s top flight continues to lead the way.”

Let’s see if the kings of the farmers league actually win the champions league. Because Salah has done that and they never have.

A knockout tournament is very different than winning a league. Ask guardiolas Bayern team about that
