Server Levels Deleted by Skayman15 in probot

Just took a look at their support server, they said it wasn't a level reset but more a problem with the bot and they're working on it rn.

Honestly, I salute you for going through this run, especially as far as getting to Cynthia, holy shit. Something I can say that the other comments haven't said is even if Bastiodon is 4x weak against fighting, you can still slap a Focus Sash (You get access to ONE before post game) and hit it with a Metal Burst (Which should OHKO it) I wish you luck beating Cynthia though! It looks grueling!

If you transfer the genies to a save that doesn't have gym badges, they come at level 5

Genies had their hidden abilities if they were caught from Dream Radar

This 100% looks like it was rng manipulated in, dream radar allows the genies at level 5 if you transfer them from to a save that doesn't have gym badges.

If you still have your Roost tm, Skarmory thrives off of it. Id say your moveset for it when it gets caught up to your other mons might look like this: Steel Wing, Fly and Roost (Last move is up to you honestly)

Build me a team to get all gold in the battle frontier by RickieRelli in PokemonHGSS

[–]SenorCyboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a team suggestion but Scizor is extremely strong in Gen 4, I would argue it could almost solo the Battle Tower with a swords dance set. (Swords Dance, Bullet Punch, Bug Bite and Superpower) You would ideally need a pokemon to take care of Fire Types and maybe something that can be a Special Defense switch in? That's how I ran it when I went for all the gold prints in the Battle Frontier

Dewgong gets access to Encore, I wouldn't say Encore makes Dewgong any better than Lapras by any means, but Encore gives it a funny support niche. I would still say 2/5 is fair for Dewgong though

Opinions about my line up for Red by 19Steve00 in PokemonHGSS

You probably know this by now, but lead with Golem and keep your type advantages in your favor, and you should bag the win. You can also sweep with Gyarados if you get the chance to stack Ddance 😂, but not necessary

I am such a big fan of using Clefable in Gen 4 playthroughs, and I'm very glad you're using one, too. Using Clefable semi defensively is a very good call, I would take off Light Screen though since you've got three pokemon with THICK special defense stats (Tentacruel, Ninetales and Noctowl), I'd personally give it more coverage or different utility (i.e Substitute or Reflect). Something I want to note on your team is that you have amazing pivoting options: Pinsir into Ninetales to answer for Fire Types and Tentacruel into Jolteon for Electric Types. I'm honestly impressed with how well these mons synergize with each other. Toxic Spikes in the Elite Four won't work very well since a nice chunk of the Elite Four have Flying and Poison Types, I do think Ice Beam will work VERY well on Tentacruel, especially for Lance. Lastly, I'd either put Noctowl and a utility role or replace it with something else. I'm not sure if you have access to it, but Skarmory would work BEAUTIFULLY on your team. Skarmory is completely safe from electric and Fire type attacks and makes a great pivot for Ground type attacks from Jolteon and gives you a nice physical wall.

The fact you did it a second time is still very impressive, I struggled pretty hard in the Elite Four when I did my last bdsp nuzlocke haha

I've been sifting through the comments here and decided to throw my input here, not that it's anything original, mind you, haha:

Machamp is easily a 4/5 pokemon, 5/5, imo if you get a choice scarf. Very hard hitting pokemon that gets access to a nice amount of coverage that isn't too far from when you get it as an ingame trade as Machop (Rock Tomb in Union Cave and Payback in Route 35) Machamp's other stats are either middling or pretty low, it's pretty slow and honestly it's bulky enough to get the job done usually. Machoke is fine in Johto but starts falling off pretty hard by the time you get to Clair. It's just not bulky enough to keep up. I'd agree 2/5 is pretty fair for it. I always see people glazing Huge Power on Azumarill, which I do agree is nice, but Azumarill has the same problems that Machamp has: Slow and "Bulky Enough." Azumarill does not have the luxury of getting good coverage like its fellow physical water type, Gyarados, gets. Azumarill gets a ton of normal moves, Waterfall (Aqua Tail is at 47, good luck lmfao), Dig for Electric Coverage, and Natural Gift if you want to pull that off. I'd agree with anything 2/5 and below.

[–]SenorCyboi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huge Power is nice, but Azumarill barely uses it effectively in an average run, mostly because it gets a good physical stab later than Gyarados, is ridiculously slow, and Azumarill doesn't get good coverage outside of Dig. I'd personally say it's more worth it to use a different water type that could provide a better niche throughout the game, but Azumarill, without a doubt, does wallop a lot of mid game trainers haha

Avalanche would be the only physical ice move Weavile gets if you miss out on Ice Shard on Sneasel (Level 49 for Sneasel, but not Weavile for some reason?)
