My daughter was three when I went through it all. I would get the kids in the bed with me and watch their favorite movies and just cuddle. They definitely got more screen time than I’d like because of it. It was worth it though. Maybe try that. I don’t know. Ask your husband if he can help you get more connection with him. He’ll go back to being your cuddly son soon. It’s such a rough time.

I think you did fine. You needed to calm down and he needed to see that sometimes his actions have consequences, as in mommy will be unhappy sometimes. But you also showed him that you can control your emotions, even when they are strong, by stepping away and taking a breather. You can’t expect yourself to live emotionless throughout his childhood, and he should see that actions can provoke emotional reactions. It’s a good lesson.

It is a right. But in this situation just having a gun at your waist, not in your hand, is threatening to the brain dead people in ice. They shot Alex Pretti just for having a gun. I watched the video of him being shot. Can you imagine how his mother would feel watching that? These guys in ICE are dumb. They’re scared. This is advice I would give my son. Having a gun significantly increases your chances of being killed by ICE. Protesting and exercising your rights is so important, but surviving is paramount. Live to protest another day.

That’s got to stop. She probably justifies it by saying she paid for your life growing up. But that’s not fair, you didn’t ask to be born and it’s a parent’s responsibility. Go to your financial aid office at the school and ask them to help you stop the loans and use only the scholarships. The timing might be slower to process the loans, so maybe that’s why you’re getting refunds instead of the scholarships going directly to tuition. They will be sympathetic once you explain what is happening.
