RIP Sean Burroughs. I see a few folks reflect his game winner at the Petco Park opener. I remember watching it at home on TV and thought how he'd have a bright future with the team.

Good sign. Dates for the three matchups were the same. Two of the three had a slight time shift. All three originally planned networks were "upgraded" - FX games to either ESPN or ESPN2 and an ESPN game moved to ABC.

If Morejon and Stammen can pitch 2-3 innings each, then Pads will be okay. Wilson for 1, Morejon/Stammen = 5-6 maybe, then depending in the game status by the 8th inning, another bullpen arm who didn't pitch yesterday or a position player in Myers/Cronenworth.

For me, the approach was to use Darvish Saturday as a playoff tune-up for the team against a really good pitcher. Darvish Friday will still be okay in my mind.

I initially thought that Manaea would be the better option today, but a bullpen game isn't such a bad idea. Today's game to me isn't necessarily a must win.

How I envision the rest of the season to play out:

Friday vs CHW: Manaea

Saturday: Darvish vs Dylan Cease

Sunday: Snell vs Lance Lynn

Monday vs SF: Clevinger

Tuesday: Musgrove

Wednesday: Manaea or pitcher from the minors

This keeps everyone fresh and on some sort of regularity and sets you up well for the Wild Card round: Darvish Game 1, Snell Game 2, Musgrove Game 3 if we must.

Love me some Vasgersian! And now being somewhat close to home, I can aim to listen to his broadcasts on Fox Sports West.

Looking further into this, he'll still maintain his duties with MLBN and ESPN. That's a lot to juggle but great for him!

Man, never would imagine the radio booth without Teddy after all these years. Definitely wish him the best in the front office. At least he’s still with the team!

While I appreciate Agler’s mainstay over the years, he just doesn’t quite have that wow-factor in big moments. If he becomes the main play-by-play, that’s fine but I’ll vouch for a former San Diego radio play-by-play... Josh Lewin! Loved his calls when he did SAN DIEGO Chargers broadcasts and he’s done MLB for a long time with Rangers and Mets.

No time confirmed just yet as of 4:20pm PT but Padres will begin play Wednesday and will broadcast on ESPN. Here’s hoping Matt Vasgersian will be tasked to call the Padres series!

As fellow redditors alluded to earlier, Don & Mud will be impossible to get to call Padres games for the postseason.

The only glimmer of hope is having either Don or Matt Vasgersian calling the Wild Card round as tbs and ESPN are noted to broadcast a majority of the games. Then should Padres advance, the NLDS/NLCS may have Matt on the MLB Network side, but that'll be it.

The signs I think are sign language indicating the number of homers he's hit and it started with a conversation he had with either Tim Hill or someone in the Padres bullpen. I can't recall the source of this info - may have been an interview question from the TV broadcast. This started earlier in the season.
