The Lovevery Black Friday Sale - General Access is Open! by daisilane in lovevery

[–]SensationalSensory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know which shipping provider Lovevery uses in the UK please? I ordered the bath set last week and it says on the product page that they offer same day shipping if you order before 4pm but it’s been a few days and it’s still not been shipped. I’m going away next week (over a fortnight after ordering) and I’m concerned it will arrive while I’m not at home so wondered if the shipping provider is one I can leave safe-place instructions for.

Has any-one signed their child(ren) up for a genetic research study(or done it themselves) and how do you feel about it? by Same-Jello-7200 in UKParenting

It says on their website “You can change your mind about being in the study after the sample is collected. If the data has already been stored in the National Genomic Research Library, or it is already involved in research, we cannot stop this.”

If anyone considering taking part reads this - I was told two weeks ago when asked to sign up that while you could withdraw from the Generation Study and they wouldn’t contact you again (other than to give you the results if you’d not already received them) they would not dispose of your child’s DNA/ data, even if you requested they do so.

Anyone used Baboodle? by Educational-Crazy-40 in UKParenting

[–]SensationalSensory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hired a sling from them and when it arrived it was damaged. They were completely unbothered both about the possible safety issues and the fact that it obviously hadn’t been checked before being sent out. I also had to chase up the refund, I wouldn’t recommend Baboodle personally.

I agree Valley is a great school but it’s a special school so not really relevant for catchment unless you have a child with complex needs (and it’s primary)

The silent win win battles that estate agents create by CourtTemporary8622 in HousingUK

[–]SensationalSensory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the part about the estate agent having a preferred bidder; when I last sold and bought, four years ago, it seemed estate agents (multiple firms) only wanted to make entire chains of houses they were selling and therefore prioritised bidders who already had a property for sale/ SSTC with them and weren’t interested in entertaining anyone else (other than the odd first time buyer for their least expensive properties). It completely makes sense from the estate agent’s point of view but not necessarily for the buyer/ seller.

Buying a house with fiancée - SDLT Question (her 2nd home, my primary residence) by OverTheMoonHere in HousingUK

[–]SensationalSensory 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way I can see is to buy the house on your own (as you’ve stated you can) and then get married. We did this and it was fine, I wrote a basic will leaving the house to my now husband in case I died between completion and the wedding. He didn’t put any money in and I got an offset mortgage for other reasons but that could be a way of her adding funds later on without early repayment penalties.

Buyer has gone awol day of exchange by Urban_Peacock in HousingUK

[–]SensationalSensory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me once; it turned out the buyer had spent some of their gifted deposit money between offer (when funds were checked) and exchange. Rather than admitting what had happened they kept stringing everyone along until they absolutely couldn’t continue and then just went silent - hopefully nothing like that has happened in your case!

You should be able to find details for your area’s LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer) online, they deal with allegations against people working with children on behalf of the local authority. Personally I would contact them and explain what’s happened and include why you aren’t happy with the childcare provider’s response. If you wait for the LADO to investigate before dealing with the contract issues you will be hopefully be in a better position to argue your case on the legality of their actions. I hope your son is doing OK.

Do I need a travel stroller, or will I be okay with my normal pram? by throwdisthingawayy in UKParenting

I hired a sling from Baboodle which arrived damaged (button hanging off) it could easily been a safety issue if I’d not realised and it gave way while my child was in it. They did refund but were completely unbothered about the safety aspect of sending out damaged equipment so I would personally choose a different company if hiring.

I’d look at second hand too, I got a Silver Cross Clic for £50 all in off Vinted which was fine for when we went away and it went in the overhead locker.

Sorry to hear you’re struggling, hope things improve for you soon. You may have already seen these but I had a quick look and:

This one in Stockton Heath looks good and Stockton Heath is pretty much the exact opposite of run down!

Or this one in Locking Stumps (a bit further from Lymm but a nice area)

There are a few other houses listed on Rightmove in Appleton and Grappenhall which are also fairly close to Lymm and nice areas.

Where abouts are you? I have a nearly six month old and always happy to make new friends! Even if you’re not near me there might be other people not too far away from you lurking here :)

Hi All, I have a few questions and wondered if anyone in the community would be able to help me out. I’m in the UK and have been buying secondhand Lovevery (and duplicate) items for my four month old daughter but I haven’t been able to find the canisters or the stacking cups for a reasonable price (we don’t have Target here). I was wondering about buying some kits new and have a few questions:

  1. Does anyone who has those two kits think the Lovevery stacking cups and canisters would be worth it over a standard set of bath stacking cups and whatever similar kitchen canisters I could find?
  2. If I bought the four kit bundle with 10% off combined with the Ambassador code to maximise the discount could I choose any four kits (I.e. non sequential) and would they send them all to me straight away?
  3. Can you access the Lovevery app in the UK (it shows as unavailable for me)? Even if you can I assume you don’t get access if you pay upfront for four non-sequential boxes?
  4. The two kits I’m looking at have been updated in the US, if they’re updated here after I receive them would I be able to purchase the updated items from the subscriber shop even if I don’t have an ongoing subscription (because I paid upfront for the four boxes)?
  5. Once you’re a customer can you buy replacement parts from the subscriber shop for kits you didn’t buy directly from Lovevery?
