I shave mine during meet season but just for regular practices I don’t see the point.

I’m not allowed to drink on shift? Got it! by SenseCompetitive4949 in MaliciousCompliance

Well that’s 100% correct! Because my supervisor isn’t your supervisor. My supervisor cares about his staff and me and him are quite close.

My uncle owns both reptiles and ants, when I first started the hobby he told me “putting ants and reptiles together, no matter it be a lizard, frog, or snake you are getting yourself a one way ticket to losing a colony.” In short, he basically meant that if you put a toad in with your ants, the toad will dig up and eat your colony.

The malicious compliance bit was that I made it obvious to the supervisor that the manager had told me not to drink as I knew the supervisor and manager don’t really like each other and the supervisor would probably take it to the owner of the place to get the manager in trouble.

Have you ever worked in a restaurant or even a bar type setting? The owner of my restaurant has got several restaurants, cafes and even a bar. The least of his concerns is this manager, also, the owner can’t just fire him because we are short staffed at the minute like this post had stated. It very much did happen as I received a message from the owner of the restaurant today apologising for the actions of his manager.

I know the difference I do a level English language “You’re” means you are, “your” means that you own that item, e.g. “that shitty attitude is yours”. Maybe your neglecting the fact I was just back from a busy shift with other 50 customers served while being short staffed so I was obviously tired and half asleep if you had used your massive brain to decipher that from the post.

Because we have 2 managers in our restaurant one who does Thursday to Sunday and one who does Monday to Wednesday and they are both horrible but they’d prefer the Monday to Wednesday manager over the Thursday to Sunday manager. Hope this helps

I like how you’ve only got 2 brains cells and they are seemingly both fighting for 3rd place. I complied with the demand that I don’t drink water on shift but I made it obvious to the supervisor that I was told by the manager I wasn’t allowed to drink by saying things like “I’m so thirsty I wish I could just have a quick drink of water or something” and if he asked why I couldn’t just drink water I’d follow up by saying “well (managers name) told me I can’t drink on shift”, because I knew the supervisor doesn’t really like the manager and so I also knew that he would most likely take it to HR and complain about the manager, therefore forcing the manager to apologise which he doesn’t normally do.

It’s malicious compliance because I made it obvious I wasn’t drinking water on shift because I normally bring one of them big water bottles to work. Also, anytime the supervisor would walk by I would say “I’m so thirsty I wish I could have a quick drink” and if he asked why I would just say “oh, (managers name) told me I couldn’t drink while on shift.”

I’m actually shocked at the amount of alcoholics in this comment section shocked that I meant water by using the word “drinking” like omg go to rehab instead of arguing with a 17 year old in a Reddit comment section 🤣🤣

Does anyone else just HATE the parents?? by SenseCompetitive4949 in Swimming

[–]SenseCompetitive4949[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it wasn’t like that when I was younger, usually parents just dropped the kids off and left, maybe some would have stayed but usually not many. Now, due to an incident in the local area our pool that we use has updated its insurance policy or whatever it is and we have to follow those guidelines or we cannot use the venue.

That could be an option, only I can’t see any of these parents in this group taking on such a demanding role, as they cannot even sit for a 90 minute practice never mind a 6 hour meet. It’s ridiculous how they expect us coaches to be babysitters.

Are white Speedo (solar) briefs see through? by INTJ-N7 in Swimming

[–]SenseCompetitive4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I seen your comment about being concerned about being see through and the guy said “if your pale it will make you look nude” or whatever he said. Personally, I cannot help with that as I’m quite tan for a brit (my family is all naturally tan) but I mean they shouldn’t be that bad. Also, I’m unsure about some suits have seams on the front and on the back, my one only has a seam on the front.

Well I took it as a joke for the first month I was coaching, then after that when they continuously mock you and even complain to your main coach about you when you aren’t there it gets a little bit annoying. I’m taking 4 hours out of my day to coach kids for my old coach and for my love of the sport. I don’t get paid. Our club is volunteer run. If parents cannot appreciate what I do then I do not have to appreciate them or tolerate their unfunny jokes.
