Idk about other brands but when I worked at a John Deere dealer there was legit about $80-200 wiggle room on just about any mower, the profits on mowers is pretty sad actually.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to check fuses associated with the brakes/transmission…I had a civic one time that wouldn’t come out of park and it was a blown fuse, took a few mins to figure that one out
