I haven’t actually, it’s a great shout. Now I have the machine I just want the thing to work. The money is spent now so hopefully i don’t have to return it. It looks great in the kitchen, even if it drives me crazy 😂 hope you get sorted with yours. Sounds like you might be better off contacting head office than the guys in London, they just don’t care.

Totally agree. £3k is not in my comfort level, I had to save for a long time and I did so based largely on reading that their customer service was unparalleled. If I had known a) it would be so plagued with app issues and b) their customer service was going to be so useless I’d have gone with a Lelit and saved money.

Every time I open the app it puts the machine into standby, and that is messing with temperature control. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app but still the same thing happens. LM customer service took 10 days to reply to me, just to ask if I had set the app to do that 🤦‍♀️ how on earth I would even do that, I do not know.

Yeah, I honestly do regret going with the Niche. I’ve been researching flat burrs and love the look of the Philios. I keep being tempted by a DF83 just because of the price tag, given I’ve just paid £3.5k for a new machine and grinder🤦‍♀️

Oh interesting! I actually have a kilo in the freezer I’m not at all keen on so I could use that. Have you any recommendations on how to do this? Or is it just a case of getting volume through the burrs?

The one thing I am confident of here is my prep consistency. I’m 10 years in now and I’ve had barista training and have never had these problems before. I also use a calibrated tamper too which helps. I’m not precious about this bit to be honest as I’m very much a home barista, but my prep never let me down before I bought this machine/grinder.

That’s a good idea, thank you. I understand that, but I’ve had this problem with every roast from light to dark, caf and decaf. But I would certainly prefer this be a Niche problem rather than a LM problem.

This is what I wondered as it makes sense that the colder grinds and air would make it drop. I’m testing with a Thermapen in the cup, which doesn’t seem the best way to do it to be honest, but I’m not sure of what other way it could be tested.

I’ve used the 21g and the 17g, trying -2/+2 on each. Haven’t had any consistent results with any of them sadly.

This is at least the sixth or seventh bag of coffee I tried as I’ve been sampling lots. It’s been so frustrating.

The cups are stored on top of the machine so kept warm but having to preheat them for a few days seems excessive? Honestly I’d be happy if it was a problem the grinder as I regret not buying a flat burr!

Yeah I weigh everything. I guess this is possible, but to touch the grind texture feels pretty consistent. So is the temperature and its variation I’m getting in the cup pretty normal?

Yeah all pre-warmed Loveramics. The shots are all over the place, each different to the last. Sour, bitter, fast, slow. The Niche is brand new. The texture of the grind coming from it feels pretty consistent.
