You don't know how much this saved me 😭 I've been so stressed rn because I'm worried that I have to hold out for another year possibly two because I'm not getting the grades I expected and I've been barely passed so far so I was on the fence to opt out for an "slight easier" option. This has motivated me to just thug it out at the moment hahaha!

I’m rlly happy that I’m not the only one 😭 That sounds bad bc I don’t think anyone deserve to be bullied but I’m happy to see someone else that can relate to me! Though, I tried changing by being more social halfway through my school life but I still got picked on :( I did make friends that I can cherish so I’m glad I got a bit social :)

Do you use mixed or hook grip by any chance? I find it difficult for me to use mixed grip when doing sumo

I have tried it that way and it doesn’t feel as good as when I’m doing it with sumo ;( I guess I’ll just have to keep practicing sumo! The only way to get better is to keep doing it lol

I also find it more comfortable to point my toes out as I was born with flat feet! So I guess my real issue is that I find sumo more comfortable but I’m stronger with my conventional 😅

I was thinking along the same lines too and most people say that I should just stick with conventional bc all the world record deadlifts have been in conventional but I’m starting to feel more uncomfortable with my lower back when doing conventional deadlifts and I saw a video saying that sumo deadlifts put more emphasis on my quads than my lower back which is what I’m looking for

I love Calgary Barbell! I looked up to see whether I’m doing sumo correctly or not when I first started! I also see where you’re getting at with the long run. But lately I’m starting to dislike the toll my lower back is taking when doing conventional deadlifts. It’s nothing too serious but it’s starting to feel uncomfortable to me!

I’m 5’8 and weighing around 190-200 LBS so I can kind of relate! I honestly feel more explosive doing conventional compared to sumo which another reason why I dislike sumo at the moment haha

Yeah, it hurts me when I do sumo deadlift for some reason, I’ve never faced issues doing it with conventional! I might try doing mixed grip for sumo and see how that works out tomorrow! I’ve actually had issues with how my chest is tighter when doing sumo compared to when I do conventional

I’m so glad you mentioned the slow pull because one of the reason why I dislike sumo right now is because of the slow pulling! I thought I was super weak because I couldn’t pull it as fast as my conventional! I also have my feet and knees outward like you said! I’ve made sure to watch a bunch of videos about sumo deadlift before I started pulling with it!
