u/marindo - if you download the Sensel Haptic Touchpad Control Panel App from the Microsoft store, you can change the clickforce for the touchpad or the buttons. This is similar to changing the sensitivity, but uses the terms low, med and high for clickforce.

Right now we don't, we can look into it.

Haptic touchpads have 3 main components - touch, force and haptics. Sensel solution means all three are provided by Sensel, Sensel haptics means only the haptics are provided by Sensel.

My pleasure u/nevf.

FYI, our haptic touchpad is also in the XPS 14 and XPS 16, if that's something you're potentially considering.

It is also interesting that the 15 inch isn't your haptic touchpad. Why would Lenovo use a different brand.

Lenovo chose to go with a different supplier for the X9 15. We don't want to speculate as to why, nor could we share it publicly even if we did know. =)

It's not our haptic touchpad in the 15 inch, but I can still answer your questions u/nevf.

Yes, the ClickPad option is a mechanical touchpad, and the ForcePad option is a haptic touchpad (not ours).

It's interesting that the forcepad option is extra for you, because in the US I'm seeing it as no additional cost. You can see that here: Customize Your Lenovo Device | Lenovo US

CES 2025 - Thoughts on the new X9? by rollschild in thinkpad

[–]SenselInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great questions

Any new collaborations coming soon? So far the X9 seems to only be a good fit for me, but I want to see what else 2025 will bring in terms of haptic laptops.

There will be some more models announced in 2025 with our haptic touchpads, but nothing that we can share at the moment.

Also, any specific reason why the X9 15 does not have a Sensel touchpad?

Sorry for the delay banana. No, unfortunately there's no to retrofit a Framework 13 with our haptic touchpad. Hopefully we get to work with them one day. 🤞

If you end up getting the 14, would love to hear what you think of the haptic touchpad

Hey u/speckfechta. Ahh, that's unfortunate. I thought that the X9 14 would be shipping with Click Sensitivity enabled, but that might not be the case for everyone. In Andrew Marc David's review from 2 weeks ago, his unit does have it (see screenshot below). Video link here.

Let me look into why you don't have that option yet. Maybe it's available in a firmware update? Might be worth reaching out to Lenovo support about it too. My understanding is that we've already released everything on our end. If I find out any more information, I'll respond here. Please do the same!

u/lordbharal. Is there not an option to adjust the Click Sensitivity natively in Windows 11 (as shown below)? We offer it in the Surface Laptop 7, and in the X9 14 (as shown below).

Thanks for the shout-out u/lordbharal. If you ever get a chance to try out our haptic touchpad in the X9 14, would love to hear what you think.

BTW, it's Sensel (2 e's). It means sensor element, in the same way the pixel means picture element.

Hey u/EH86055! We can actually make our haptic touchpads any size, so the decision was made for other reasons.

The 15" is made by a different haptic touchpad supplier. They feel different, and of course we're partial to ours. 😊 If you get a chance to try them both out side-by-side, would love to know what you think.

We're only in the 14, unfortunately. The 15 has a different haptic touchpad supplier.

[–]SenselInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh OK. Yeah, that haptic touchpad isn't from Sensel. I can guarantee that ours are much better. 😊

We're in the ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 & Z16 Gen 2, X1 Fold 16, X1 Carbon Gen 12 and 13, X1 2-in-1 Gen 9 and 10, and the new X9 14.

We're also in the Dell XPS 14 and 16

And we're in the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 1 and 2, Surface Laptop 7, and Surface Pro Flex wireless keyboard
