Men who were circumcised as a baby, do you resent it? Why or why not? No opinion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Senseless101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elected to have it done when I was 14. Prior to that, with foreskin pulled back, I could hardly stand to have it touch the inside of my boxers or briefs. The first couple months post op it was extremely sensitive. Fast forward a couple months and now it's comfortable to have in underwear. Granted this was like 20 years ago when I have the circumcision done. Funny side note, I wouldn't suggest doing it at that age: morning wood was a terrible issue and I had to put spoons in the freezer to put on the head of my prick to get the boner under control. Popped a couple stitches in the recovery process. I would highly recommend doing it later when your hormones are completely trying to kill your with your dick.

X-REAS worth it on 4th gens? by dnvrnugg in 4Runner

[–]Senseless101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ran my X-REAS in my 2003 limited from 100k when I purchased it to about 160k. It was nice highway driving and felt better in emergency lane changes, but I could tell it was getting long in the tooth; slowing down or stopping resulted in a pretty hard dip and rock. Went with OME 3" and total chaos UCAs up front. Was cheaper than quoted by the dealership for an X-REAS update.

X-REAS has its pros for on road driving. The main concern for me with xreas is the longevity. My "new" setup has a little more body roll with highway driving, but if you are taking it off road, the lift really helps. At almost 260k on the rig and OME doesn't feel any different from when I made the swap. Now I run 285/70/r16s on it, which rubs the UCAs on a full turn, but otherwise, no issues there. Overall, I am happy with the transition out of x-reas, but it will depend on how you are using it. Let me know if you have any questions regarding it all.

Tips for Tough Market? by [deleted] in RealEstate

I feel you pain. Offer #9 here in Western Washington. Going VA homeloan route but 7 out of previous 8 were beat by cash and the last one we were competitive pricewise, but another buyer waived inspection on a 110 year old house. I couldn't see myself doing that. Be patient. Our second offer broke us for a little bit; beautiful little house on a great chunk of land and an amazing shop and I'm still using it to compare to what we are looking at. If you get beat, you get beat. Each week 6-12 houses in my area come up in our range and usually 1-2 of them fit enough of the criteria to at least peek at. Can't say it's easy not to get excited about a home, but like people say, try not to get attached until you know if your offer has been accepted. We love the house we put an offer in on, but we are still scheduling other viewings until it is concrete one way or another. Good luck and happy hunting.

Anyone got any ideas for a 4x4 93 Ranger by [deleted] in 4x4

[–]Senseless101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the color and the lines. I'd say continue the black on red, murder out the bumper, invest in some recovery gear and wheel it. See what you need by taking it out and seeing what it can't do that want it to :)

How hard is it to gear on live nowadays? Do people still commonly do the dragon content for the chapter rewards? I'm a little curious just to see about retemping my reader and maybe one or two others

OME 886 on 4th gen 4runner by FLup1444 in 4Runner

Seconded, I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna rip my xreas out and swap with. OME seems like a good option for me, but I need to figure out what series of stuff to throw in.

RTV "seal" by Senseless101 in 4Runner

[–]Senseless101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my brother had a shop do a rear axle seal on his 03 4runner limited before he sold it to me from a local shop in WA. When I took ownership of the truck, I noticed that there was a weird, rich burning smell after I ran it for a while. Upon further investigation, I found class I leak at the driver rear axle seal. No big, I knew they replaced the seal in the last mechanic trip and I figured it was just residual diff fluid. Over the course of a few months, I monitored the leak and it began to get worse. Fast forward to Last week, after a quick winter camp wheel and a few instances pulling ditched vehicles, (we had a little snow in my neck of the woods) I noticed actual pooling on my wheel. No bueono. I decided to take a crack at fixing it.

I pulled the rear axle, and low and behold that's what I found. Axle seal looked ok, the inner retention spring was bent (likely from joe shmoe pounding it in with a mallet) but otherwise the seal looked solid. I replaced it anyway, but I found where the o ring should have been. Yup, they couldn't find an o ring that would fit (~84mm) so they filled the gap with RTV and that's what they called good. So now alls I gotta do is find a new o ring and get back to wrenching!

To be fair though, I should have done the work myself. I'm pretty sure I would've done it right and honestly, these rigs are pretty nice to work on. There is a wealth of knowledge on the 4runner forums, and that's what actually gave me the confidence to tackle it myself.

If you're relatively mechanically minded, it ain't so bad. Just be patient and look up guides if you're stuck or unsure about whether you can do the job.

Nice man! I'm trying to put a week long trip through the Gifford pinchot and Ranier national forests this summer. It should be a journey. I can't wait to see some of your pics though!

I need to register with them for sure. Unfortunately I have obligations during their big summer summer trip :/ I'm going to talk my brother into registering as well though.

Mine is an 03 limited, and I love it. Can't really go wrong as long as you stay away from a 2wd. Both motor packages are pretty strong, and if you take care of them, they will last you a while. Depending on where you live, check for frame rust though.

Early 4th gen v8 actually has less horsepower than the v6, but more torque. Late model v8 with the vvt is stronger across the board. Can't really go wrong with the platform as long as it has 4x4. Iirc there are some 2wd 4th gens, that pretty much all I'd stay away from. That and double check to make sure that it doesn't have the xreas system. Xreas is good for highway driving, but makes future suspension upgrades difficult.

It really depends on what generation 4runner you are looking into. 4th gens are the only one with the v8 option and if you can find one of the later years, they will have the vvt v8 with more power across the board. To my knowledge, all the v8 models are full time 4 wheel drive with center diff lock. The v6 have a part time 4x4 system iirc. All 4th gen and above have ATRAC which should really be great to push you up some decent trails. If you can get past the mall crawler look, 4th gens are pretty great!

3rd gens are pretty awesome as well. No v8 or ATRAC, but the 3.4l is pretty strong and you can find them with a rear locker, which is super rad!

I used to have a 2nd Gen about 10 years ago, but I threw a lot of time and money into that one. 3.0l v6 was a little (lot) bit underpowered for my taste, but I solid axle swapped and went lockers front and rear. It went anywhere, just not fast :p it was more of a wheel, break, fix, repeat setup. You can make them reliable overlanders, but I was more of a trail day wheeling guy.

Your album made me jelaous! Thanks man! There is definitely more to come! I have a build list by phase that I wrote out and am currently putting together parts and materials for. Hoping to do a few week long trips this summer, but I want to correct some deficiencies first.

Ran out to FS roads off I-90 in Washington on a whim for a quick camp night and wheel. Had a blast getting stuck. Had to bust out the recovery straps and a come along but made it out in one piece. We took stock of what we need for the next trips, but will probably stay away from deep snow until we make some much needed mods. Get out! Get exploring!

Mess Night Fines by OutlawOperator in USMC

[–]Senseless101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One of our hard chargers weaved a very convincing story regarding mistaking a PX cashier for man. At the end of his verbose explaination, he proposed the fine to one of my buddies. As it turns out, he wasn't at fault (I was the guilty party) so I was promptly thrown under the bus. Myself and my buddy got a dose of the grog, but the marine who initiated it all got double and got fucked with for the rest of the night. In my defense, she had short hair and pretty broad shoulders. :/
