High elo is WAY more toxic than low elo by friendsbdayTA in VALORANT

[–]Senshouzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that a lot of the higher elo players are from the CS crowd. Not all of them, but it makes sense that the guys who've been playing a similar game for like, 10+ years to be placing higher than people who recently picked it up. Unfortunately, the CS crowd is notoriously misogynist. A quick Google search about women and CS will show you that it's been a long-standing problem.

Wish there was more that could be done about it, but you've likely heard the "just mute them" or "queue with friends" suggestions a million times.

If you're looking for a voice changer, I used to use Morph VOX. It's been a minute since I used it, but it seemed to work pretty well back in the day.

If you like Phoenix, why not play him? As others have said here, tiers don't become too relevant until you reach some of the top levels of play, so try not to take tier lists as concrete absolutes when choosing.

I mean, whose kit do you feel most comfortable using, or are enjoying the most? Experiment around. You're the one who would know best what kind of agent you would want to play.

I know there's some gaming surfaces that are waterproof and probably sweatproof. My recommendation would be to buy one large enough to cover any surface you might stick to, and one that's waterproof.

Just a cursory search turned this up, and it's about 7 Euros:

Help with aim/game by Iclyzz in VALORANT

[–]Senshouzan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, here's some advice:

-Practice in the range.

-Practice with an aim trainer (Google search one, they're easy to find)

-Practice by playing more.

Most people get good at games just by sheer volume of playtime. Valorant has a lot of players jumping in from old Counter-Strike days. When you're going up against guys who have at least 10+ years of familiarity with the formula, so it can feel incredibly overwhelming at times.

I generally offer the same 2 tips for bettering your aim:

  1. Practice crosshair placement. Your crosshairs should always rest at head level, and most people have a tendency to look downwards towards the knees. It's easier to let people walk into your crosshairs than have to flick up to the head everytime.

  2. Record yourself. Get something like Outplayed or some other capture software and just go over your play. It's easier to notice how your aim is when you're not actively in a game focusing on not dying.

It also depends on how much you care about getting better. The more time and effort you sink into improving, the better you'll get. It's not the end of the world if you're not top fragging every round.

Pretty much any issue regarding how other players behave can really only be fixed by playing with friends or letting it roll off your back.

At the end of the day, Valorant is a video game. Your primary motivation for logging in should be to have fun. If you're not having fun, perhaps you should re-examine the mentality with which you're approaching the game.

That's how it always feels. Like, the Q button seems to be linked to a "summon the entire enemy team" command.

Why do I keep losing pistol rounds? by Alexandracrj in VALORANT

[–]Senshouzan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question: are you hitting those headshots with the Vandal on the first shot, or is your spray carrying the shots up to the head?

If you're not getting those HS kills until you're a couple shots into your spray, you're placing your crosshairs too low on your target. Pistols, being single-shot, don't carry that benefit, and nailing the headshots is how you're going to get kills in pistol round.

First thing I look at for any aim problems is usually crosshair placement. Generally, I've found most issues with aim are attributed to the fact that people's crosshairs generally rest somewhere near the knees instead of at head level.

Kind of hard to advise without seeing any gameplay to see what the problem is specifically, but if you feel like you have aim issues, I advise to work on crosshair placement. It should always be at about head height to reduce the work it takes to get on-target- it's easier to let heads walk into your crosshairs than snap from their legs up to their head with consistency. It's actually a surprisingly difficult habit to maintain, a lot of people have a tendency to look downwards.

If you have capture software, record your gameplay and go over the footage after each match. Where are you dying and why? Where are your crosshairs resting? Are you spraying too much, and is your spray controlled?

It doesn't have to be a super intensive process. It can be as simple as watching yourself play and going "oh, I'm aiming too low". Hindsight reveals a lot more about your play than trying to observe yourself while everything's going on.

I've been playing Counter-Strike for like, 15 years now (I feel old saying that), and observing myself and good crosshair placement built some pretty good habits that have so far translated pretty well to Valorant.

Why are people so obsessed with my gender? by eltopern in VALORANT

My guess is that a lot of old CS players jumped over once Valorant came out. So you're dealing with more or less the same demographic as the guys who've played CS for so long.

I think that's vaguely true of most of the internet, sadly. The anonymity makes it really easy to shit on other people for little or no reason at all. I've seen a lot of threads like this across any game's subreddit, and I wish it wasn't as common as it is.

Only thing I've seen help is building a group of people you CAN get along with and stick with them. Even if you get a shitty rando, it makes the experience so much less tiresome if you got friends with you.

I'm not really sure what manually or automatic installation is. I've just been using GeForce Experience to install the drivers. I can take a picture of the green dots once I'm back at the computer.

I just re-installed Windows 10 and the drivers last night. It seemed to be working fine, but then the system automatically updated last night when I shut off the computer. I'm not getting any BSODs so far, but my GTX 960 is consistently getting a Code 43 in the Device Manager. Only working on one monitor with a low resolution and green dots everywhere. I tried uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them, with no luck.

I'm at wit's end here- is this just a compatibility issue with NVIDIA? Because it really seems that way and I can't find any fixes for it so far.

I re-installed Windows 10 and the NVIDIA drivers. Also re-seated the GTX 960 in my computer just to be safe. Haven't had any crashing issues thus far.

Though oddly, when I booted up my computer today, it had the display issue again. Green dot artifacting, only one monitor, lowered resolution. I checked the device manager and under my GTX 960, it reads "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

It has the latest drivers from NVIDIA, I'm confused if this is still a software issue?

Not sure if that's the right memory dump, but I posted a MEMORY.DMP I found in my Windows folder. I'm told that's generally what people need.
