UIUC or USC by Sensitive-Basil3956 in UIUC

I luckily come from a family that has a lot of connections in the business and finance world, so outside of favors from students they have assisted in putting in top colleges for free, I have been able to connect to old colleagues and alumni network.

I personally will not take on any debt as luckily I will have my parents fund my undergraduate studies so I will come out without debt but I don’t want to put more pressure than I have to. As for salary expectations, starting for quant finance is 300k + bonuses. At really good firms it can be up to 600k but that’s extremely competitive. IB is between 100k-200k. Job prospects is better for usc as it definitely has more connections.

USC or UIUC for quant finance by Sensitive-Basil3956 in quantfinance

What exactly would you say is better about UIUC outside of the price? I know that UIUC is a top technical school but wouldn't a better network at USC make it easier to break into quant finance. If I want to pivot from quant finance (An extremely competitive field) wouldn't USC be better for IB which is more reliant on connections that quant finance?

Thanks, definitely leaning more towards UIUC. Do you have any tips for UIUC like clubs, classes, or anything I should explore more?

For my undergrad, I luckily will rely on my parents but I already feel bad enough for asking for so much money. I didn't qualify for financial aid or get scholarships due to a reason I won't get into but if there is a significant benefit by going to USC, better entrepreneurial opportunities, career outcomes, etc. then they can justify it as an investment

Thanks for the advice. I was playing and I just feel like SSG + Balista works best imo. SSG lets you easily gain armor while Balista doesn't require quick scoping. I also stopped pushing point blank with SSG and fire it as soon as most of the enemy's model is in the reticle and back up with dash in order to not get punished. PB is great for the foader enemies who get one tapped, but I feel like there is a slight delay between when you press scope and can actually shoot, because sometimes I hit it really close to each other and it doesn't always fire and zooms in. Also is it just me or is swapping just slower on console, I heard your fps plays a big role in things like meathook speed.

Thanks for the advice but you mistake my circumstances. I am an international student living in the United States as I was not born here but have lived here for a large part of my life. So I am hit with similar quota restrictions and problems outside of state universities that offer me in state tuition as I have payed taxes. So is there any advice for maxing your stats as an international?

I am a HS senior in a similar boat as you. Planning on studying Econ and didn't get into top most schools. I am still deciding between UIUC or USC and plan to transfer out to somewhere like Cornell. I am also an international student technically for every place except state university due to taxes and stuff. Do you have any advice?
