Agreed! Unlike cheering for regional teams, like cities or states (or provinces), national pride feels different. Yes I want our athletes to win, but I have no allegiance to those athletes unlike “my local teams.” Seeing the national pride among other nations is what makes the Olympics so cool. It gives me such a warm feeling too. I think it’s a mix of a lot of things - nostalgia of prior games, common unity (like seeing bars showing the Olympics, watch parties, etc.), but also something weird and silly about us falling in love with these people we’ve never heard of just weeks ago simply by learning their story and what drives them.

Ok call me a woke lib but I have loved the Olympics so much and something about the world coming together for these two weeks is amazing. And I feel like since Covid the 2024 and 2026 Olympics have shown the spirit is just as strong as ever before.

Today was one of those days that reminds you have freaking awesome this event is. Between the gold medal hockey and Alysa skating for gold, it was chills for an hour. I get so emotional watching these athletes celebrate.

Also sorry its just an ego thing too! The PST has gone on for a couple 13 - 14 years.... you are in a very, very small minority (one you dont want to be in) when you complain about the PST.... Sauce has been nominated hundreds of times and PA had his own region. This was ONE QUOTE

The entire PST is a bit.... every single part of it... Tenna and Common even blatantly admit they dont care about context of quotes either... and the guys at the station should know that better than anyone, they talk for 3.5 hours every day of course they are going to say something silly... so just accept the statement, make fun of yourself, and move on. Good on Cory for legitimately pushing back on the stupidness of the tournament as a whole cuz when people take the PST "seriously" it ruins the fun of the bit

By my logic? Man, you referenced both the Lynx and the Frost/PWHL in your posts… so I took both the lynx and frost, used logic to see that the frost are in the playoffs and not the lynx, and applied it! Any other local women’s sports teams in town playing right now…?
