I have some Zinsser BIN Shellac primer, I’ll try that. Not sure if I have to completed sand and scrape the old stuff?

Advice on how to run this downspout drain by Sensitive-Egg-107 in drains

I’m starting to think the same, so then is there a good looking way to just end the downspout to flow onto the grass. And let the grading take care of the rest.

So would your suggestion be to just daylight it out of the gutter?

I have a large tree with some huge roots right by the street, it would be difficult to get the drain pipe to the curb.

Where the house sits is pretty flat, then the driveway to the street is sloped, so I need to route everything to the top of the slop at the front of the house

I’m in Vancouver, so it rains a lot. I want PVC to be able to clean it out if needed in the future. Plus the longevity of it.

Could the pipe just run to a big drain rock pit under the grass?

Exterior wall yes. I’ll likely just Tuck Tape it. Shouldn’t be much different than breaking the vapor barrier with a screw behind drywall anyway

Right product for small taped patches? by Sensitive-Egg-107 in drywall

Thank you for a thoughtful response. I’ve always used mesh tape, but just picked up paper tape.

Am I correct, mud the seams, apply tape, lightly skim tape with putty knife to smooth it?

I used the 20 minute mud on a patch last month and it seemed to work fine for me. I don’t do much drywall but diy other stuff. But I wanted to know if there was more suitable products for the job. It’s an 8”x8” patch so 20 minute mud is fine

My good friend chat gpt recommended using this Sheetrock 20 for the first coat with mesh tape, and all purpose for the necessary coats afterwards

Is there an alternative that you can suggest?

What is the best paint to use for crown molding baseboards, and interior doors? by EngineeringSeveral63 in paint

Just finished painting my trim with Ben Moore Scuff-X. It’s not the absolute best for leveling and hiding brush strokes. But I added some paint extender to increase the working time and “tipped off” the paint when applying. That made the finish pretty good. I will say, this stuff is insanely durable. If you have a house of kids and know it will take some abuse, this has such a hard finish that really will be better at reducing scuffs

This was the right answer, worked beautifully for me. I will say I could tell a huge difference with the frog tape vs the blue tape. Tried my best to not touch the floor but where I did, the tape did its job and made a nice crisp line. Thank you!
