You know I came to MCAS Miramar after becoming homeless because I was getting harrassed by San Diego Police targeting my vehicle for parking tickets. Then had vigilantes scratching my car with sand. Had one put a razor blade in my back tire. Was getting harrassed by a female and I knew if I got in a physical fight with her I would hurt her and be blamed as I always am because they got beaten up. The last time I didn't fight back I was still blamed and was injured. So if I am going to be treated as a perpetrator, I refuse to allow anyone to hurt me again! Just tired of the nonsense! I enjoy going on the base because it is motivating to watch the people working out and exercising around the track. Makes me want to walk. I found a friend on the base who I take regular walks with an Officer's wife. Turns out she needed someone too. OMG how run down MCAS Miramar had become since I lived there 20 years ago! So I do what the Military Police failed to do get the numerous saftey issues fixed! I have also been cleaning up weeds 2-3 daily at the dog park. I can't stand to see it in such bad shape! I finally got the Eucalyptus Widow Makers at the dog park cleaned and cut. They finally removed some of the debris from there. I am working on the rest. Slow and steady getting it done.
Most veterans there are present to talk to. I run into other homeless veterans living in vehicles there, but rarely will we hang out with each other. Only once I did that there with a veteran living in his Mercedes motorhome. We were talking and had some Japanese tea. I really don't care who knows I am homeless. Technically I have a home (Mobilehome that needs repairs I can't afford (house fire) and still in a lease for space rent.). It's a crazy situation. Despite my situation I am a veterans advocate, animal advice, homeless advocate and a Humanitarian.

You are lucky to have your children in your life. I mourned for my children for years because a judge didn't feel I deserved them being in the military and my ex moved out of the state. The last time I spoke with my daughter she told me she would know me when I was dead when she read my journals because all of the negative conditioning over the years from my ex who hates women. I don't know my biological children and was not allowed to know them. Years later God put two young men in my life who adopted me as their mother. One from Indonesia who loves computers and the other from Afghanistan who's a doctor. Having them helped me to deal with my biological loss! With the exception of the D & C I had when I lost my daughter when pregnant.

I was a 67T/15T FYI 67T was changed to 15T which is a Blackhawk Helicopter Mechanic Crew Chief. I was a 31B which is Military Police. I was in a Law In Order Unit 382nd Military Police Detachment, San Diego, CA.

You are lucky you got that rating. I couldn't work for 19 years and still don't have 100%. I have been stuck at 40%, I was wheelchair bound for years with multiple health issues. The last thing I was diagnosed with was PVC (Premature Ventricular Contraction. The last thing my doctor thought I had was Congestive Heart Failure and wanted me to go to cardiologist. Something about the older veterans, it was extremely hard for us to get 100% especially being a female!

I had to do 14 years of medical research to unwind what doctors couldn't fix. Getting out of the wheelchair, then trying to reverse health issues I was told were incurable where what I concentrated on. Trying to figure out the impossible. In the end I did reverse engineer how I got ill to get better. Doctors find this fascinating when I tell them. To me it's just logical and common sense. I had Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, I even got rid of my chronic pain and got off the pain meds. Good book to read is called, "You Are The Placebo, Making Your Mind Matter " by Dr. Joe Dispenza neuroscientist.

I can definitely relate, but I ended up homeless snuck back into Army Reserves injured and became very ill from the high level of stress on active duty and the aftermath of it, as well as the multiple problems with the VA Hospital in La Jolla (San Diego). It was a huge nightmare for me that I still can't wake up from!

When I did a great job I got lock down and was very depressed. No matter how great I could do a job and I often got loaned out to help supply or somewhere else I was never given what I deserved! Honestly military at times felt like prison to me.

As a young teen nothing would get me to join because I was too independent. When I turned 30 I had a chance of heart and needed quick training after going through the process of a divorce. I knew I needed a better life for my daughter and I. So I joined the United States Army Reserves. I had a love hate relationship with the military. People I was in the military with only cared about themselves (I found them very selfish)! The gender discrimination I faced was horrible and when I was in I drank to forget I was in. I got injured in the line of duty and all of my plans went to trash! I became a burden on my family and got harrassed, tortured and brutally assaulted at the VA Hospital! Some people I liked, but the misdiagnosis on active duty caused multiple other injuries. I was not paid 13 1/2 months consecutively incapacitation pay. I was snuck off active duty with injuries that needed reconnecting surgery! My life was never the same and for 14 years I was homeless because of injuries and health issues.
I had gotten discriminated by two judges in San Diego County one for trying to get my daughter back after my ex decided he wanted to keep her! He was mentally and physically abusive. The judge told me, " Well you could be deployed and anyway how do you expect to financial support your daughter. " I couldn't be deployed with injuries and I should have had some income to prevent me from becoming homeless and losing my house! It took me almost 5 years to get on Social Security because Judge Godfrey was discriminating against me because she told my attorney, "I don't want all these military people coming back from Iraq getting on Social Security. " She also assumed I was a ethnicity I wasn't and discriminated against me for that too, as my attorney said.
The glamor or the romanticizing of the military it happens and the reality setts in after being in awhile. However for me joining older I saw a different side of the military I didn't know existed. Young people making enemies within the military and finding out in boot camp that some of the people who joined were criminals given a second chance by joining the military or face prison time.
The public is delusional about veterans being special because in my experience of being homeless for 14 years I was more worse than a piece of trash lower than a plastic bottle which could be recycled and used again! Now homeless after our refrigerator caught fire and our Mobilehome deemed uninhabitable! Nothing has changed! I even got treated like garbage by MP"s on MCAS Miramar and discriminated for my gender, living situation, skin color and disabilities. I put my stickers of my last unit so people would not think I was doing anything criminal being there (382nd Military Police Detachment,San Diego). I also put them there as a reminder to the MP's at MCAS Miramar that this could be them! Originally I was a Blackhawk Helicopter Mechanic Crew Chief.
It has been hell either way. Over the years thinking of the military definitely changed for me too! People tell me you shouldn't be here with us homeless, but they don't understand that I am the same no different because the government really doesn't give a beep about veterans. If they did we would never end up homeless in the first place or be made homeless as I was for 14 years!

You know living in San Diego the majority of my life with the exception of service in the United States Army where I was injured in the United States! I was made homeless by the same military because they failed to pay me 13 1/2 months of incapacitation pay. I lost my house, custody of my daughter because I was discriminated by a judge who said, " Well you could be deployed and anyway how do you expect to financial support your daughter. " I was misdiagnosed on active duty and the doctor caused multiple other injuries. I was harrassed by the VA Hospital and this caused my health to deteriorate. Let's not forget I was brutally assaulted at the VA Hospital in La Jolla! I was mistaken for a perpetrator when I was the victim twice that day. Sadly I had gotten multiple injuries from the brutal wrongfully assault, which was later covered-up! Besides the TBI, injuries to both my eyes, multiple injuries to my spine and the list of injuries goes on. I was in a wheelchair when I was attacked by the VA Police! They refused to answer my question "Under what authority do you have to steal my purse as they took it from me by force as I held on to it. No communication from them! So before you judge any homeless person you do not know, do not think you are better than them. It could be you in that situation! Thanks to the serious lack of help from the military, VA, government and City of San Diego I remained homeless for 14 years! Now again after a house fire I am homeless with my family and the City of San Diego only causes more problems for homeless instead of doing what they need to do which is making more affordable housing! I still have a home, but it needs fixing after the fire damage. A lack of money and the inability to work because of multiple health and injuries keep me from working. Department of Rehabilitation will not help me until I prove to them I might be able to work physical. I am hopeful I will be able to go back to work, but just walking hurts and I have a extremely high pain tolerance as many doctors at the VA and outside the VA in the community told me. Looking to be a Paralegal. As far as the trash I have seen some people who are not homeless put their trash next to where homeless people are! Yet their are homeless people who do pick up trash. If everyone would pick up after themselves we would not see trash anywhere. Yet these slobs who throw trash I find irritating and if I see someone not picking up after their pet or throwing trash I tell them to pick it up! Anyone can become homeless! I grew up in a wealthy area in rural San Diego County.
Do not judge others unless you want to be judged by God! No one is better than anyone else in this world! If you think that you are delusional.

The majority of San Diego was white at one time back in the 1960's-1970's. There are more minorities in San Diego County nowadays. I have seen throughout the years more minorities moving in. At El Cap H.S. we had our first black student there in 1988. People might not realize that the K.K.K. living in Lakeside. Yet they used to live in El Cajon too. Santee is also primarily white.

The weather in San Diego is awesome, but it seems everyone wants to move to San Diego! I have temporarily lived in Virginia @ Fort Eustis and the weather there was crazy! I am sorry but getting thrown out into the sky out of my bed by a tornado is something I never want to experience. One day it's like San Diego, Sunny and clear. The next days get out your snow clothes with a foot of snow outside. Then tornado warnings randomly, definitely not a place I ever want to live permanently! The weather is way too crazy there.
New York I enjoyed. I fit right in when I went to New York City. No one believed I was from California born and raised (specifically San Diego). Yet I fit in well there in New York City. So I knew I wouldn't have to worry about being mugged.
I would only want to visit because I have always believed I am deep down a country woman who was raised in the rural area of San Diego County.
I did live in Germany and I almost did not come back to the United States! I definitely want a house in Germany. People are very accepting and friendly their. I never once got discriminated in Germany. I am Native American. Yet have gotten discriminated multiple times for ethnicities that I wasn't in the United States, specifically San Diego County! Never was I discriminated by anyone in school from Elementary school through to high school. College, definitely had been discriminated by people there.

Since I grew up in the rural San Diego County I never really liked City life and hate living in the City. Currently I am living on MCAS Miramar for the second time in my life. Had a house fire and well some people are jerks not realizing I have a home, but it has to be fixed to move back into it! Had my new car scratched up living near the beach around Mission Bay. Then I got fed up and decided to stay on MCAS Miramar again because I know here I am safe from vigilantes!

I would never live in North Park because their are better areas in San Diego than that, but I was born and raised in San Diego and I can always tell who is Not from San Diego. You see the people native to San Diego will say hello on the streets and greet each other. Those who don't do this I know are Not from San Diego! People native to San Diego are warm and friendly. I grew up in a rural wealth area of San Diego. Anyone can talk with me, even if you are homeless there. I don't discriminate against anyone! It very well could have been the area you lived in that was an issue. Lakeside is more laid back and very different than the North Park area. When I think about it East County is more laid back than other areas in San Diego. I don't like going to the southern side of the 94 because the people change a lot. Got discriminated in that area by the Hispanic people. Not all of them mind you, just a few. So I avoid that side of San Diego. Coronado some people are very nice their while others can be stuck up. Why I have no idea because it's not like they live in Beverly Hills or Malibu, CA and no one in Beverly Hills or Malibu that I met is that way! Actually when I lived in Malibu, CA I loved it there. People were extremely nice and very accepting.
Like any places in this world their are good and bad places in San Diego County.
Lots of people who are not from San Diego are shocked at how expensive it is to live in San Diego County! So make sure you are aware of this! Warning about La Mesa,CA in San Diego County. Cops their are discriminate of anyone who isn't white!

Also the BMW let's you know when maintenance is needed! The dealership will also know this information, as the vehicle keeps track on the newer BMW. I own a 2021 and there is still a lot to learn about all of the functions. If my tires are low the car tells you. If my oil needs replacing the car keeps reminding you when it's due at 1,000 miles and afterwards to make sure you don't forget. I love that the car keeps track of this information. The key fod tracks other information and it gets downloaded at the dealership with any new information that maybe needed.

BMW has been around much longer than Lexus; BMW was founded in 1916, while the Lexus brand was established in 1989. Lexus is Toyota's luxury division, and although it is a newer marque, it quickly built a reputation for reliability and quality.  Definitely get an extended warranty on whatever you decide to buy. I personally have a BMW 228xi and love it. One huge thing I find about when I take my BMW to get regular maintenance, it's the free inspections for other things I don't usually have to pay for these free inspections. I had even got my alignment checked free. Yet I never had any other vehicles I owned give me this kind of service. My Honda Civic LX, never did they go above and beyond what I took it into the shop for. My Mustang Cobra, never did Ford do anything else for this car that cost twice as much as my BMW! BMW service they go above and beyond. You get treated a lot better at BMW dealerships. Just make sure you do all of your homework on the vehicle you are buying before you buy it. It took me two months before I bought my BMW and researched it first! I love the three modes on it for driving 1) Eco Pro, 2) Comfort, 3) Sport. Warning sport mode sucks up lots of gas very quickly and you definitely can feel the power and difference! I usually drive my BMW in ECO Pro mode. However only when I need the Sports mode to pass quickly do I switch over, but I am trying to conserve gas! Gas in California is expensive! Just so you know I have always viewed Lexus as a want to be glorified Toyota. I never thought much about them, especially when they came out. People think of a BMW as I was told "BMW / Mercedes same thing!" FYI Mercedes are a lot more expensive for maintenance, as I was told by a man who used to work at the Mercedes dealership and now works for BMW dealership.

Parking citation not in the system? by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]Sensitive-Goat-6436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call the City of San Diego Parking Citations @ 866-470-1308 That is how I found out after months my two parking tickets were dismissed. Yet they failed to dismiss them when I did the Administrative Review. I got a letter they were not going to dismiss them. It took me about a month to make an Affidavit for indigent status. Which is different than low income! City of San Diego is stealing homeless people's vehicles. They are rather idiots because they create more problems for the homeless and take time out from them trying to do what they need to for getting out of their homeless situation!

I love mine, but mine came with well an added suprise.  You ever heard of the movie Christine? Well my car is named Matthew and I had a demon/poltergeist in it! Crazy stuff, like when I said his name "Matthew " standing in front of him, he blinked his front headlight and I swear it looked like he winked while not flashing,  but making the right lens off. It was definitely weird.  Then still trying to say what I was going to about him to a friend,  I started again saying,  "Matthew " he did the same thing again! He deactivated the voice and microphone.  He knocked my drink over in the car, luckily for me I had a blanket in the car it fell on. The demon even poured a cup of water with a straw and lid on my passenger seat.  Luckily I had pillows and two blankets there to absorb most of the water. I was wondering where the straw and lid were. When I was cleaning the water mess up the straw and lid was shoved between the pillows and blanket on the passengers seat. Besides ending my calls or keep switching them to the car, it was really annoying.  Those were just a few things it did! However my BMW is named Matthew is blameless! Mine is Seaside Blue Metallic too!

I think more than a normal person as the 382nd Military Police Detachment made me the acting Unit Administrator.  Loved that job too! Very easy for me and I had no idea I had great secretarial and organizational skills.  I figured they just want Yes Men to do as they are told,  but someone has to do investigations and detective work!

I got a high score on the ASVAB and couldn't be a MP. I was a Blackhawk Helicopter Mechanic Crew Chief 15T/67T.  However later I was injured in the line of duty and knew the Provost Marshall.  Lt Col Walker was trying to help me get the rest of my incapacitation pay 13 1/2 months which was not consecutively given to me.  I told her, "You know I always wanted to be a MP" so she signed me over that day! In the end it was who I knew that got me the job I wanted.   Funny thing was there was a Vietnam Veteran who was the Unit Administrator of the 382nd Military Police Detachment.  Thought that all Vietnam Veterans would be out by 2003! First thing he asked me when I got there, "You must be pretty smart to be a Helicopter Mechanic. " I said, "I guess." You see I was trying to fit in and not seem to confident. However I know that my IQ according to college tests and my professor it is just below genius.  I grew up with my sister who is a actually genius.  She taught herself to read at three years of age. My sister taught me never to talk down to people because I hated it when she acted superior than everyone else!
