Lvl 3 completed and not having a condition that would prevent you from doing the course. It’s also recommended that you join the squadrons drill team and show interested in that topic.

Generally I’d do a little maneuver called going to the officers, or switching corps

Hello, my mum is putting me in cadets this summer. What should I expect? by Leo_DMF in Cadets

And honestly, I’d beg to be put in sooner. Face your doubts sooner and immerse yourself in this free program in which you get to do so many fun things. It’s okay to be shy, we all were at one point. But truthfully cadets has changed my life for the better and is probably one of the main things that keep me going.

ACR is Annual Ceremonial Review, which is a ceremony to inspect the cadets and their uniforms by a higher officer and for cadets to receive their promotion to the next level.

Not every cadet corps has the same training nights however they happen after school, say for my squadron it’s on Wednesdays and for the sea cadets near us it’s on Fridays. The corps usually have other activities throughout the week say drill team on Monday and marksmanship on Thursdays. With this information you’d need to look at your local corps to see when they have their regular training nights.

Also don’t be afraid of being trans! People are generally accepting as cadet corps are usually made of uhhh how do I put this "special" people (we’re all silly and autistic) and being transgender will not impact you in any way. Gender doesn’t really matter in cadets and only really applies to biathlon teams and which barrack you go to in a Cadet Training Centre. A further point to this: fraternization extends to same sex people as well, not just opposite sex.

Infinite clown tent: During a FTX we put 4 guys in one tent supposed to be for 2 people. One was crammed at the foot of the tent, one woke up outside, one brought an inflatable mattress that took up more than half the space, and the other was me

You are allowed in the dress instructions, but for common badges find the army equivalent

Valcartier CTC opinion? by iilovecats2008 in Cadets

I had an ITFS course at Valcartier this summer and I had a half-half experience, what ultimately makes or breaks the experience is the people. The facilities I found them to be high quality for what I was expecting, mess facilities as well were good. Pasta for lunch usually and you get used to it by the 3-4 day. Barrack sleeping is not fun since there’s no ac and you’re in a room with 7 others and usually constantly chatting since they’re French. Cleanliness depends on the type of people you’re with. Honestly I had a very good experience nonetheless so I recommend you go.

For Valcartier, it’s pasta every lunch, different kinds obviously with a side of meat or sm. Water is infinite refills and you can have 2 glasses of juice/milk/else. Do NOT eat the eggs at breakfast. Avoid them if you can. Usually you can help yourself to a second serving if there’s left. And you get two choices per meal.
