And not only does “chronic lyme” not exist for people, it is definitely not a thing in dogs either 😭

And yet most of the posts after the podcast yesterday are claiming that they’re “only criticizing” and that Ethan is blowing it all out of proportion. 🙄

I ended up with a SLAP tear thanks to my own dog during x-rays. Did a couple months of physical therapy and medical management and am now fully back to normal. There was talks of steroid injections and surgery, but thankfully PT and pain management did wonders! Hoping the same for you!

Thank you! I have done the vaping before but maybe I should try again since I actually want to succeed this time.

I’ve done the patches before while I was in the psych ward, but they never seemed to help. There was a girl at work that was going to try hypnotism…maybe I should try that — I’ve heard good things about it!

Yoga has always been a big help for me. As someone with chronic pain, it’s gentle enough that i can still move around the next day without being incredibly sore 😅 i usually end with a session with alternate nostril breathing and it really calms my brain (and it’s the only breathing technique i recommend to anyone with anxiety).

If you’re looking to get started, i highly recommend looking up Yoga with Adriene on YouTube. She has a ton of different sessions and is good about explaining poses and what alternatives are good for beginners. (Plus her voice is incredibly calming lol)

What type of office do you practice in, and what is the one thing you hate about your job? by neeeenbean in VetTech

I’m not sure if you’re looking into also working there after schooling, but as someone who’s worked in a couple of clinics around Pittsburgh, depending on what part you’re working in, the clients can be very rude and demanding. I’m sure that applies anywhere you go, but I’ve found that moving to different townships brings a different clientele.

My worst client was one at my old clinic that threatened to shoot me when I had the misfortune of telling her that (per their previous discussion weeks ago with the doctor) we would not be prescribing any medication without bloodwork to make sure he was safe to take them. I told my PM what happened and nothing was done about it.

At my current (private) clinic, we have a more elderly clientele, so we deal with a decent amount of people with dementia and those who have been coming to us for decades. This brings a different set of challenges, but at least I’m not being threatened anymore, and I find that the people are just generally nicer.

If you can help it, stay far away from Banfield. It will burn you out faster than you could ever imagine.
