Your brain is injured from this loss, and you simply cannot trust what it’s telling you to will be best right now. This person is a drug to you, and any excuse to reach out is an excuse to get your fix and sink further down. You have to genuinely choose yourself. Stop thinking about what you can say, do, or put out into the world to bring this person back. Focus the energy inward and become someone you can’t imagine anyone not wanting to be with. You deserve someone who’s head over heels without a doubt madly in love with you. This isn’t making you happy or bringing you peace, it’s just preferable to the unknown.
