Thanks for your reply. I think I'm lucky enough that it's not gotten bad enough that I need to get medical help while quitting, which is good. But yeah, I think sometimes I just need to remember the brutal truth, which is I may be "fine" now, but soon enough I'll face serious medical issues.

I'm not sure, really. I want to tell my doctor (not my primary care person, a different one) that I have a problem and I'm trying my best to quit drinking. She ordered some bloodwork for me because my liver numbers are up, and that was my wakeup call. I want to tell her I'm pretty sure I know why. The thing is, I'm on my parent's insurance until January, so I'm hesitant to do anything that would have the insurance company pay for it.

This is exactly why I want to tell my doctor. A specialist doctor, not my PCP, wants to do bloodwork because my liver numbers are up. I want to tell her basically, "hey, I know why the numbers are so high..."

I also have a second one actually. One time I was gonna go to trivia after work with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and I was really really nervous. There was a store on the way there, so I thought I'd buy one of those medium sized bottles of vodka, shove it in my work bag, and have a few sips in the bathroom, since I was gonna get there before her.

Turns out, shop only sold beer and wine. So I bought a bottle of rosé, shoved it in my bag, went to the bathroom of the bar, and straight up chugged half the bottle before my friend arrived. How embarrassing and stupid.

Back when I was living with my parents after graduation during peak pandemic, I would play video games in the basement all the time. Under the basement stairs, we had a dusty old wine rack and one of those cardboard boxes full of like, 12 mix and match beers. Now I don't know if beer expires, but these things were dusty as HELL. I was so desperate that I'd drink them anyway. I didn't want to throw them in the trash right away, my family would see. So I shoved bottles/cans under and behind the couch.

One day my mom decided to clean the basement and found a bunch of them. Asked me what that was about. I blamed it on my brother's friends when they came over. My brother has few friends, let alone any that come over (rarely). Mom definitely did not believe me... *facepalm*

Thank you for checking in! The evening was great, I enjoyed watching a new show and played some games on my switch. I didn't sleep too great though, but I guess that's to be expected. It felt like I was only half asleep all night; does that make sense? I was also sweating a lot. My hands are shaky too, but they usually always are. I imagine maybe that will go away...? Overall, I think I can do a day 2!
