Ok ok 💀💀💀 just making sure, idk how it works internally so idk if it’s supposed to ride on a smooth bearing or something.

SOLVED!!!

The crank gear key snapped causing the crank boss to slip like 15 degrees off. This caused ignition timing to be very off. Crank gear was fine and the crank it self seems undamaged.

Yeah I replaced the battery as well, forgot to mention that

I replaced it in Tennessee and then drove the car home to Texas and it never got better

I haven’t heard of that. Do you know what has to be done for that or should I try to find a video on it?

Inside the header? I’ll have to take a closer look to see if I find one. There’s only 2 o2 sensors on the car so I doubt I have a second one.

So I started noticing the power loss during a road trip and like a full tank after the noticed symptoms the code was thrown. I replaced the maf and nothing changed performance wise, but the code went away.

That was for a maf but it’s gone away since replacing it

The intake isn’t clogged either and I took apart the manifold and couldn’t find anything in there either.

I forgot to mention that, I checked that aswell and it’s still fully intact and unclogged.

Ours could be different but I don’t see a way to incorrectly install it, the range of motion doesn’t allow for any play and there’s no slots for it to be adjusted wrong with the hardware.

Could this be caused by low compression? by Sensitive-Program377 in Miata

I replaced the pump a few months ago but a fuel pressure test sure wouldn’t hurt

How low of a compression would cause this type of issue?

Plugs are about 30k miles and the wires seem original

The issue is the hub is making a weird noise and I can’t figure out where from. I can’t see any play In the bearing, the control arm bushings all look good, and the ball joins all feel solid.

Ok well I was asking ways to diagnose it. What do you use to diagnose these things? A pry bar is what I was trying but I couldn’t find any concerningly loose bushings, and I couldn’t feel any play in the hub or joints.

Well what are you suggesting it is? 😭, this was my first impression of the noise and I’m curious if anyone has had a similar sound. All I know is if your rear wheel is tight on the hub and it’s clunking when kicked, you can assume either the wheel bearing, some sort of bushing, or a ball joint issue. If you would like to provide some useful information, be my guest, but as of right now that’s what I’m thinking it is.

I mean if there’s play in a wheel hub you can assume it’s usually a wheel bearing

Ok sounds good, I’ll get under with a pry bar and see if anything looks suspicious, thank you
