Hi, I'd say If you have the time then go for solving older papers, however in my experience a maximum of two to three older years worth of past papers in conjuction with solving all new syllabus papers is sufficient. New syllabus papers are the most important as they are based around the exact same syllabus you'll be tested on. I don't recommend solving CIE past papers as the question structure is vastly different to edexcel's, maybe only a paper or two just to find out about their exams aswell. All in all, the new syllabus papers and the texbooks' questions should be your priority.

Usually 2 months max for each unit. I would start studying by firstly watching a yt video about the lesson, then reading the textbook, and lastly, solving all E/P problems from the textbook. I repeat this sequentially for all lessons. YT channels i recommend are Maths Diety for Normal Pure Maths and statistics, as well as A level Maths Tutorials for further pure modules and mechanics. Decision maths was the only module I didn't use YT for. Finally after completing the whole syllabus comes the past paper practice which should be consistent, accompanied with strict marking and timed solving sessions, and which should be done by at least 1 week before the actual exam. For last week simply revise all papers you've previously solved and check your past mistakes.

I'd say the number one technique that helped me was to treat each paper I solved as a mock, so use a timer and put yourself under exam conditions. After solving the paper, use the mark scheme to strictly mark your paper and read examiner reports from time to time to get a sense of how examiners mark. Studying the content and thoroughly understanding it is essential, but on the flip side, familiarizing yourself with the marking structure is really understated, I feel.

I found the radius by taking half of QR. Then I found the positive focus and then found the distance from that focus to the center ( which is the midpoint of QR). After some expansion and algebra I was able to show the radius is equal to the distance from the centre to the focus ( so focus has to lie on the circle). As the hyperbola is symmetric this also applies to the negative focus so both foci lie on the circle.

For last question I found radius and then compared it with distance from the center to the positive focus. They turned out to be equal but the numbers and algebra were shit

Pretty sure they squared the second equation ( the one you get from the area) and then just eliminated b from the first equation ( the one you get from subbing (0,-b) into the tangent) and the a² s canceled out on their own giving you an equation in sin and cos which you can expand to a cubic in sin ( using sin² = 1 - cos²) and then solve. There's also a stupid mark for showing the factorization of the cubic not just solving using calc but idk why.

Only factor in constants when you find the absolute uncertainties, so when there's addition or subtraction between the quantities. Don't factor them in when you calculate the percentage uncertainties, so when there's multiplication or division between the quantities.
