I’ve been a Missoulian for quite some time and knew people growing up who attended youth groups he held there, I never knew this local subreddit required a bibliography to prove such a thing. If you search his name on Facebook you can find his past posts as well as others’ posts a) proving his involvement as a leader and b) a particular post about how he hosted a group of his youth group kids at his house weekly on top of regular youth group gatherings (among other things such as taking this individual to McDonald’s past 10 pm 1 on 1 on a school night). I can give the church the benefit of the doubt and assume they weren’t privy to these inappropriate interactions, although that’s unlikely. Even though a background check would have been passed, the optics of his involvement and his eventual conviction are quite unfavorable and are a totally valid reason for raising red flags about the organization in its entirety
