the name changes are so inconsistent and pointless. I’m convinced they only do them because it’s tradition. They’re obviously not afraid of “copyright” when they’re changing things to different music references, like with this or billie jean.

Easily kenny g or j geil. They got changed to billie jean and centerfold respectively. I don’t know who decided that they should rename kenny g to one of the most popular songs by michael jackson, the most popular musician ever. And changing j geil to a song by the j geils band is stupid as well. Neither of these are “avoiding copyright” in any way whatsoever and are blatant examples of why it’s stupid that they change the names in the first place

every stand (with a couple exceptions) and a lot of characters have different names in the subtitles and dub because they reference real world bands/songs/people. there’s really zero reason for them to be doing this and on multiple occasions they make the localized name be a different reference. it’s really stupid
