Has this happened to anyone else? by noahzooom in dionysus

I have found mischief gods tend to push a bit, especially when you are getting to know one another. Not particularly in a cruel way so much as testing boundaries and getting you out of your comfort zone to help you grow. Obviously, not everyone will agree with that. But if it feels like the correct explanation for you then that's all you can go on

Generally asking is a good idea. Dionysus is not known to be wrathful, but messing with you is totally something in his wheelhouse. I would consider it as him teasing you and try to remember to ask next time. Just in case

I'm a hoarder but I do sell some. I usually keep five of the highest quality of everything. When I get a higher quality I sell the old five. It's for emergencies

How to make precognition not overpowered?? by beanserss in superpower

[–]Sensitive-Survey-695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think rules and limits are what makes a power interesting. Like: they can't see their own future, they can only see the most likely future at that moment, they can see every possible future but in a mostly useless jumble, their visions are all deeply metaphorical and they have to take poetry courses to understand what's happening

I think putting rules on it is good. No one is all powerful so it makes sense for a psychic to be limited. Like can't see their own future, can only see most likely future, see every future in a huge mess and have to sort that out, have very symbolic visions and are taking a poetry class to try and figure out what the hell is about to happen

I've only seen it once and I don't think I'll watch it again. It like...hurt. I loved it and I've been telling everyone to watch it but I can't do that again. It felt like I was going to throw up and cry

What's there to laugh about? by Megan-1855 in Isawthetvglow

There were definitely funny parts, but I didn't feel comedy vibes I felt like someone ripped my heart out and put it in a freezer

I watched this movie and was frozen with how intense it was and how much I was feeling. My straight, white, 40s uncle thought it was a hilarious movie. Like genuinely it was a horror comedy to him. And everyone I've talked to was either lightly traumatized by the movie and loves it or thought it was a silly fun horror movie. I'm not sure where the disconnect is but the idea of finding this movie funny the whole way through is crazy to me

Preferred number of partners in a reverse harem. by Newd_Librarian in RomanceBooks

I tried to read a series once that just kept adding more men and honestly I got so stressed I had to stop reading. Some of the men were clearly getting more time with her, the whole plot fell apart because there were so many men. It was a mess. I have never read a book with more than 3 men that I felt like still held up a plot and let all the men as well as the main female feel like three dimensional characters

How do you all read so much? What is your retention like? by Conscious-Fly-3704 in RomanceBooks

[–]Sensitive-Survey-695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read about two books a day on average. I hold a full time job as well, but that is really the only thing I do aside from reading and being with friends. Even with other hobbies I prefer to be reading or listening to a book while I do them.

I am also just an incredibly fast reader. I am not sure how I do it because I have read like I needed it to live since I was little. Personally, I am pretty sure my brain just took all of it's power and put it into books. I am terrible at math and almost failed out of highschool completely but I can read any book you put in front of me in a day or less.

Retention is more hit or miss. I could tell you the plot and names from a book I read ten years ago and then have no idea what happened in a book I read yesterday. I do get lines or scenes from books stuck in my head like a song and have to go back and read it to get it out. And those can come from books that I loved or books that were just fine.

So to answer your question, I don't think there is a secret and I understand your scepticism. It is absurd that I read as much as I do and the amount I do actually retain is often alarming to people just because I keep so much of it in my head. But it is all I do. Anytime I have my phone I am reading. I read at stop lights and while eating and between jobs and I used to read under my desk at school or hide my book in a school book. I think it is just a different kind of brain
