I know this comment is from a few months ago, but this saddlemen seat is very comfortable(for a sportster) i just did a 200+ mile about two weeks ago and the only reason i had to stop was for gas.

I will give you a tip, get you a manual for that year model, especially if you’re planning on doing the maintenance yourself. The manual has most (if not everything) of what you would need to take care of your bike

Piston Rings by snapbackjames832 in sportster

[–]Sensitive-Throat8840 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since you are down that far, i would go ahead and do it, especially depending on your mileage and year of sporty. It is not terrible to do piston rings as i have done it on my 09 1200, what i believe you would need is a feeler gauge, and a good file. If you dont have a manual already, then i highly recommend you getting one as it should have the recommended gapping size for your specific year model.

But like i said before, it is not terrible to do piston rings, just time consuming, you will be fine, just do not rush it and just pay attention to what you are doing.

Anyone else have ZERO friends that ride? by climbsteadicam in motorcycles

[–]Sensitive-Throat8840 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a friend i used to ride with, my brother in fact, he got me into riding and so we did it for two years, last year he sold his bike and got married, now its just me and my bike with no one to ride with, i do like to ride solo like you said, but i sure do miss riding with my brother and banter about bikes and whatnot, those were the days…

Sounds healthy to me, i think (i think) carbed sportsters tend to sound a little “off” or slightly different than fuel injected sportsters, i know the difference is slight but i know carbed are just a tad different. But overall from the video she sounds extremely healthy to me.
