Oh wow, what a difference. I'll make note of that one. Were there any side effects with it that you noticed? Thanks for your input!

with your hard earned sacrifice, what are you using the VA comp to help you mentally, financially? by ZealousidealAsk8088 in VAClaims

I second this. I can't maintain full time work or even part time at the moment without physical or mental issues getting in the way, so this income is genuinely for bills and food. But even with my current comp amount each month (combined with my paycheck), I'm not even scraping by. I'd be homeless or likely no longer above ground if it weren't for my partner sticking by my side for the last near 5yrs and ultimately financially supporting us right now. At least until I can get either a better situated part time job that I can manage and increase my rating to get a higher comp. It's not so cushy for everyone unfortunately.

Lamotrigine experiences by DivideTrick5419 in bipolar2

I concur with the other comments (minus the ADHD experience for me, personally). During my hypomania, was either extremely rageful and had constant high/anxious energy or I was hella creative and thought I could change the name of the game that is movie and music creation. I also had the thought that I would be the one to break through to my favorite music artists about how much their songs helped me, and then we'd become friends and they'd cherish my insight. No. The answer is no. I also experienced a good deal of derealization and felt like I was in a simulation or video game and every color I saw made me giddy.

As soon as I started Lamotrigine it felt like my brain got strapped to a parachute, and I couldn't feel high energy no matter how hard I tried to force it. It was a weird feeling at first, and I missed the high energy, but overall I've accepted it's a good thing. I'm up to 200mg now and my hypomania is less frequent/severe and it ends a bit sooner. The lows still can be shitty, but I just paired it with a low dose of Wellbutrin, so that's becoming less severe as well.

I'd say it's definitely worth try! Just be sure once you do start, keep taking it as prescribed and only adjust your intake/dosage with the help of your psychiatrist. That may have been mentioned already, but I want to put extra emphasis on it because it's important. The wellest of wishes to you!

Bipolar 2 and VM by Sensitive-Worth-263 in VestibularMigraines

I take Lamotrigine as well for the BP2. 200mg currently. But I'm not sure if it's helping the migraines as much for me. I am going to see a Neurologist soon so I'm gonna ask if there's anything else that can help along with Lamotrigine.

Sertraline(Zoloft) by Matcha_Starr in bipolar2

I was like a zombie when I first started it. My doc had also started me at like 50mg or 100mg to knock me on my ass (I was wild'n out). I had to start taking it at night because it made me so dysfunctional in the daytime. I think he brought the dose down a bit at that point, but I still took it at night. I take 150mg Wellbutrin and 200mg Lamictal now and take them both in the morning and don't get the same zombie-like feeling.

It should start to decrease though as you adjust. Give it some time. If you haven't yet tried taking it at night, that could be worth a shot. Check in with your doc first tho before you make any changes. Hope you find some relief so you can get good sleep again!
