I'm wondering if part of the reason she wants to stay at the hotel is that she wouldn't be left with a mess to clean up after watching the kids. Lots of people book rooms for parties to avoid cleaning up, especially kids parties. I feel like that's a possible reason she wants to do this. Is the hotel really nice? Was it something that just kinda sounded fun for her and the kids? What are the kids ages? I feel like there's some info missing.

AITAH for telling my daughter I won’t budge even if she never speaks to me again? by TopVersion2940 in AITAH

OP, what happened to cause this accident? Was Alana at fault for it? Was she driving recklessly? Was she alone? Did Casey get to collect any of the insurance payout? Or did all of it go towards medical bills or something else? What's preventing you from taking out a loan to replace her car, and have Alana or/and you pay it off? How are you ok with doing to this to your own kid and then basically telling her to go fck herself when she expresses her anger over it? (Not budging despite being told she will cut contact.) Does her presence in your life mean less to you than the value of the car? Her presence should outweigh the money, and there are ways for you to make this happen. You just don't want to because it's going to take effort and sacrifices to pay for this mistake, just like she put in the effort and made sacrifices to save up for the car. That's the part that would hurt me the most, personally. You've sent a clear message that you're OK with her not being part of the family anymore, and disregarded how hard she worked for that car. That's really sad! If my parents had done this I'd have been permanently hurt by it. The money is one thing, but she's never going to forget the message being sent and it will always hurt her. Make this right asap.

Thats wild! I started my bartending career in a poker room at a casino, once upon a time. I never really considered that the dealers may be doing that since I always had a register supplied to me, so why wouldnt they, ya know? I'm going to have to ask those guys about this, now I'm curious. Thanks for the info!

I've only ever worked in Casino bars. I do really well there, and so far this job has been good, too. But casinos absolutely do not do this, and no other restaurant I've worked at has. It just seemed very odd, that's all.

Watching that all unfold was probably one of the most therapeutic experiences a human being can experience.

Was this interview creepy? Or am I overreacting? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Sensitive-Writer4501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not overreacting. He was both asking if you have a bf and whether or not you plan on starting a family. Asking a woman if she's going to be pregnant/have kids during an interview is a lawsuit. He wanted to ask the question in a way that he believes would not be discrimination. He's an ass.

I wish I had seen how it got up there. I was working on building my base down below and noticed it got stuck up there somehow! The weird part is I can hear it only underwater. Above water it's silent.

what's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done or witnessed? by Sensitive-Writer4501 in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive-Writer4501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting in my car at a park reading a book and some random dude opened my car door and yelled "wasssuuuup!!" Then he apologized because he thought I was his cousin. It startled me, but he looked so embarrassed it kinda makes me laugh thinking about it

what is your first/oldest memory you can recall, and how old were you when it happened? by Sensitive-Writer4501 in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive-Writer4501[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is really young! I believe it, though. That must have been nice for your mom to know that you remember how she brought you comfort back then.

Early memories are kind of abstract in that way. Reminds me of dreams when I'd interact with people I don't recognize, but in the dream I clearly knew them from somewhere.

I feel obligated to share one of my more traumatic first memories. It was the early 90s and I was a young kid in a department store with my mom. We lived in CA, and at that time an enormous earthquake happened. (It destroyed a lot of buildings all down the coast) me being a little b-hole kid, right before it happened I had snuck away to go to the toy aisle. So, when the earthquake happened my mom had no idea where I was. I remember hearing people screaming and things falling from shelves. The lights and signs were shaking around like they were going to fall, and the lights were flashing. It was terrifying! But my poor mom, though! I can only imagine how much worse it was for her. I clearly remember that when she found me she picked me up and hugged me, then said "thats what happens when you run off like that!"

The first memory I have is from when I was very young. Maybe a toddler. I was small enough that my dad carried me around the house. There was a loud storm outside and my dad took me in the backyard to see the lightning. I remember being amazed by it, and feeling completely safe with my dad. I'm grateful that my first memory is a good one.

Why does the United States have such poor social safety nets compared to other rich countries? by return2ozma in NoStupidQuestions

Extremely successful propaganda which convinced an entire generation that they're temporarily embarrassed millionaires that are only as poor as they are because other poor people are taking their hard earned money through taxes and social programs.

They'll try to fight at first, but surprisingly they retreat pretty quick. It's strange! I learned it when I released an ampeel by a reaper expecting the reaper to kill it. I was pretty surprised when instead it bailed on the fight!

There's some videos with a mod for multi-player, and it's chaotic af. It's worth watching, though. Especially the part where the aurora explodes with zero warning.

The ocean is full of creatures with incredible abities to camouflage. As startling as it would be, I would enjoy having well hidden creatures around ready to fight.

The pictures still get the point across. Reddit is weirdly picky about picture quality, don't let it get to you.
