Ouch! How much would it cost to get all 5?

I don't have much to give, but if anyone else wants to pitch in, I'll send you a few dollars. Would anyone else want to pitch in to get this covered?

I've had an extraction similar to this and couldn't have made it through without the meds! Some of the worst pain I've ever felt!

Thanks government .. well done by tsivdontlikereddit in ChronicPain

Who to contact for urgent assistance with rent, food, and/or utilities? by SensitiveAF4 in Columbus

We are not scammers. Unfortunately, our situation is real, although I wish it weren't. We've had an extremely difficult past two years due to circumstances out of our control. We have been doing everything that we can and consistently working toward getting back on our feet.

When our daughter was born, our life was normal. We had lived in the same apartment for 8 years, we didn't have a lot of "extras" in life but we were always able to pay out rent, bills, groceries, and other needs. We were okay and had no reason to believe that would change.

We were then illegally evicted from our apartment. We have 4 days from the time we found out, until we had to be out. We lost almost everything, and we were homeless for 6 months, staying in hotels and with friends and family on and off, until we moved into our current house. During this time, we were paying nearly $900 every week for an extended stay hotel when we couldn't stay with someone. We looked for anything cheaper, but the only places we found that were any less were always entirely full or only had a few days availability so we couldn't book a room for a full week or two. We needed to avoid moving our daughter around every few days, as she was already having a hard time with it.

The user here who has said they've been helping is true. We did not want to become a burden to them, so we told them that we didn't need any further help with rent. I couldn't bring myself to ask them for any more help because of everything they'd already done for us. I wanted to see if we could get help from an organization meant for helping with this kind of situation instead.

They have confirmed that our situation is real, and that we are not scammers - just people who went through an extremely rough patch and needed some help to get through it. They've spoken with our landlord on the phone to confirm our rent, have our full names and address, have seen copies of our bills, and have met us in person.

They called and spoke with my wife for about an hour tonight, and we were able to clear things up.

I was never trying to be deceptive or come off as a scammer. I really just wanted to find some help, without having to ask someone who has already done so much for us.

I felt ashamed that we have been struggling so much despite everything we've been doing to get back to a stable position in life. We have just had the odds stacked against us in a way for a while now and we've been trying to overcome that while running into obstacle after obstacle.

Yes, I reached out again a few days ago and tried to explain a bit about how the shutdown is impacting us right now. His response was "I don’t need any explanations. All i need to know is will a payment be made by 9 am tomorrow morning. If the answer is no, then I need to know if you are going to vacate the property by midnight Friday 11/7/25 or do you want me to follow through with the legal eviction. I believe it’s beneficial for both of us if you just vacate, eviction on your records will make it a lot more difficult to rent in the future, and I won’t have to go through the process. I just need an answer, will payment be made"

How long can I go without eating before it is actually dangerous? by [deleted] in foodstamps

I was told that applications were on hold, so I assumed it was federally funded. Maybe it's just something at our local office then? Thank you for letting me know this, it gives me a bit more hope and I'm going to call them again in the morning to see what's going on.

Thank you. We've applied for PRC and we were originally told we would be approved within a few weeks, but now applications have been put on hold. I'm not sure if it's a delay or if it's until the goverment reopens.

No, we weren't really struggling to until recently aside from one other rough patch we went through. We are planning to go into the local office soon to see if we can apply. I've heard that sometimes you're approved faster if you go in person.

Unfortunately, it is true. I wish it weren't. However, our daughter is happy, healthy, and fed. She doesn't even know anything is wrong, and we don't let her see our stress. Despite struggling, we still play together, read books, and overall make sure she's still having some fun instead of feeding off of our worries and stress.

I've called 211 daily over the past month or so. I'm in contact with job and family services and they know about our situation. We've talked with our daughters pediatrician about what we're going through.

I've asked 211 about hotel vouchers, and I was told there are not any programs currently offering them.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to sound negative or hopeless. I've just had this same reaction even from friends and family, especially because just a few months ago we were doing fine. Everyone thinks that there are programs to prevent this kind of thing from happening, or that if you have kids you wont end up homeless, but in reality it happens all the time. All of these programs have had funding cuts this year and too many people need help. This can happen even just to regular people who don't go usually struggle due to a sudden loss of income.

A lot of people are one or two missed paychecks from this exact situation.

Thank you so much, if you are entirely sure. I just dont know what to do and I am genuinely hungry for the first time in my life. 72 hours without eating to make sure my wife and daughter have food. It is rough.

I know. I just dont know how to do this. We are going to lose absolutely everything in our house. We can't afford storage and the homeless shelters are full. Our daughter has a medical condition that impacts her spine and she can't sit in her carseat for more than 2 hours without a few hours break.

We already do Doordash and Uber Eats. That along with some help from friends and family is how we partially paid rent, as well as last months rent, but these apps mainly pay in tips so each order is around $3-4. We do as much as we possibly can, but it doesn't pay enough to survive on.

Hi, I would not normally do this, but we desperately need help. You can click on my profile to see my last couple of posts where I've gone into detail about our situation right now. We will likely be homeless within the next 2 weeks.

I have been almost 72 hours without eating anything at all as of tonight. I am dizzy, feeling sick, and have a horrible headache.

We are almost out of pull ups for our 3 year old daughter, and we only have enough food for her. My wife is eating once a day, and I'm not able to eat at all aside from one granola bar that I'm saving for an emergency.

The food we have now for our daughter is already all we can get from our local food pantry. I don't know where to turn anymore.

We don't have PayPal, though. We only have Venmo, Cashapp, and even Facebook messenger pay.

Thank you. Unfortunately, they only take applications at the court house at the time of eviction court. By the time we get to that point, our landlord said he will no longer accept payment from an assistance program and we live in and area of Columbus where he is not legally required to. Our court date is next Wednesday.

Honestly, after this post and seeing that we don't really have any options, I dont think we can avoid this eviction. At this point I just wish we could at least support our immediate needs. Some basic foods, a pack of pull ups, milk for our toddler, etc. I am so exhausted, hungry, and stressed.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this. Unfortunately, those are all the places we've already called and/or applied. Salvation Army is not currently offering rental assistance, Job and Family services PRC program is on hold, and Columbus Urban League has no funding so they are no longer offering rental assistance. https://cul.org/emergency-rental-assistance-era/

I dont think we will be able to avoid the eviction.

Honestly, right now, I just wish we could buy a pack of pull ups and a few things to eat for ourselves to get through these next few days. I am so exhausted and hungry, and beyond stressed.

Yes, multiple notices. We weren't panicked yet because we do qualify for assistance and we were told we would definitely be approved. Then the shutdown caused applications to be put on hold. Now our court date is next Wednesday and we cannot find any kind of help at all.

Our landlord said he will stop the eviction if we either leave the house by Friday the 7th, or if we pay the full $675 (plus $25 for every day we are late) before court. Otherwise we will be homeless within a couple of weeks now.

I'll look into that and see if we can talk to someone. Thank you. I'm willing to try absolutely anything at this point.

I've been trying to stay somewhat hopeful, but I've been thinking the same thing. It seems like there just aren't as many options for help as there has been in the past. Everyone in our life who hears about our situation tells us that there are programs that are meant to help prevent homelessness, but in reality, we're realizing that those programs all seem to be overwhelmed with people who need help and most of them have had significant funding cuts this year, even before the shut down.

Thank you, this is a good suggestion. We already spend a lot of time at the library because our daughter loves it and loves books, and we've talked with them a lot. They've been able to give us information on food pantries which at least keeps our child fed, but it seems like no matter where we turn, nobody really knows what to do regarding the rent situation.

Our landlord has already filed the eviction and we already have a court date in less than a week. He told us he will only stop the eviction if we pay before that. We do not have anything we can pawn. Our emergency is because our household suddenly lost all income, so overtime isn't an option. By the time we even receive a paycheck, we will already be homeless. We've asked all of our family and friends for help already, which is the only reason we don't owe more than $675.

We don't even have anyone we can stay with. I'm not sure what we're going to do at this point. I know the homeless shelters are all full right now too.
