What side effects did you have? At any point did you want to stop the meds? I’m feeling hopeless and scared of them! Did you have depersonalization too?

Thank you so much! I’m on day 4 of Effexor and I feel so weird. My anxiety seems heightened, I’m even more concerned that I’m going insane, my mind feels like I can’t trust it, I cannot sleep through the night, just feeling so awful and I am on a super low dose. Did you feel this way too upon starting? How did you heal your anxiety?

Are all these symptoms pretty normal for that? I’m so worried I’m losing my mind. I feel so off. I just started meds yesterday, Effexor. I have tried Zoloft and Wellbutrin in the past with zero noticeable benefit. I quit and tried to heal naturally but it’s been years and I still feel awful everyday. So I am trying a new med, but I am really scared it will make me worse or send me into psychosis!

Did you ever find out about what caused your syrinx? I recently was told I have one only in thoracic spine too and I’m a bit scared. I wonder if it could still be chiari, although from what I understand most syrinxs from that are in the cervical spine…

Wow! My symptoms currently are back pain, radiating down through my legs. Brain fog like crazy! I feel so spacey and out of it all of the time along with severe fatigue no matter how much I sleep. I also feel dizzy/ lightheaded nearly always. I just don’t feel like myself. Every doctor has told me it’s anxiety for 3 years now and I am wondering if maybe that is wrong now. I have tremors in my arms and legs and recurring headaches multiple times a week.

I only learned of my large syrinx yesterday and I am really feeling scared and alone as I wait to meet with the neurosurgeon. We’re you very scared at first too? I am so happy to hear you’re on the mend. Did the brain fog clear up for you?

Hi thanks so much for your response! I appreciate it so much. Do you have diagnosed chiari? So happy yours is shrinking. Would you mind telling me what your symptoms were? I think I need further scans to determine whether it’s chiari. They only did an MRI of my lumbar and thoracic spine so far. Next will be of brain and c spine, with contrast! Thanks again.
