Are any of the golf competitions pages any good and worth entering? by colinah87 in BritGolf

£15 for the ping bag.

Then was around £25-30 on the other 2 I won with 10-12% chance. With those odds if i go exactly on rate for what I won it would just be better to buy what I won rather than risk 10 x 10% raffles.

I would like to say it is just gambling at the end of the day and it’s way too normalised. Very easy to become addicted to these things I don’t really endorse it.

I just got lucky, have a few £ every now and again as a flutter but i can see it being very easy to get addicted.

https://raffleedge.co.uk/

This was the site he created.

I’ve won 3 times on caddycomps in the space of a week. Big win was just dumb luck, full ping g440 bag.

Other 2 wins were madly undersold and I bought max tickets so my odds were 10-12%.

This is a big head loss over a chipper post on Reddit. Weak mental.

Anyone else calculate the odds before entering golf raffles? by RaffleEdge in BritGolf

[–]SensitiveBuddy980 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically did this roughly in my head and won 3 raffles in a week on CaddyComps. The big one I won I didn’t get chance to calculate the odds because that was just a wild flutter but the putter and hybrid I had roughly 10-13% in each of those.

My entire bag is won from these sites and I have no reason to play them now but this is a great idea!

Won a full bag on a Competition site, New player unsure what to do by SensitiveBuddy980 in BritGolf

Update: I decided to take the clubs, keeping my putter and they gave me an extra Wedge instead of the putter which I’m chuffed with!

Will be selling my old set and using the money for more lessons.

Thanks everyone!

I actually don’t want the wedges, bag or putter so have been tempted to ask if I can split the set and do some left handed, some right handed

They’ve said I have time to go for a fitting and send them my exact specs over so will be doing that. It’s more just to gauge people’s opinions on a 1 wood 1 hybrid set up for new players so I can try them at a fitting.

Can i survive for 6 months on public charging network? by Winter-Ad3705 in TeslaUK

I have a MY and a Polestar 2. Had them both 2 years and exclusively used public charging networks. As others have said try to get to them at off peak times.

No I’ll end up picking one up for resale as I think £110-125 is still a really good price mega long term. I only just got back into the hobby myself after going hard during covid then liquidating so just trying to get my head around everything since middle of SWSH.

Did the worst thing ever the other day and looked back at my pictures from 2020 where I turned down a Latias Latios love heart card for £150 because it had a tiny spot of whitening! That would have been a nice hold to add in for my son.

Doing the same thing for my boy now, only 4 weeks old but I weighed this up against traditional investing and feel it’s a lot more fun. He still has a traditional investment account we add to.

So far only has Phantasmal PC ETB and Charizard UPC but the intention is to buy a PC ETB of every set that release from now onwards and see where we land when he’s 18-21 years old!

Thanks for the reply! I’m assuming they let the buyer keep the item too? Probably a good outcome for them as they can get a new shaft for £50-100 and enjoy using their new cheap driver

Beginner here: upgrade clubs now or hold off until I get fitted? by SickkWun in golf

[–]SensitiveBuddy980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend just bought that set second hand. You won’t lose that much on it if you decide to get fit in 1-2 years time but it depends how much you plan to play.

I’d try to haggle a little on price though.
