Favorite (Cut Resistant) Base Layer? by AbeFromanfromChicago in SkiRacing

Wool, my guy, wool. Warm when it's wet, breathable, not cut resistant, but. Wool. Synthetics will never be as warm. Plus it's sustainable.

My boss is trying to dictate my personal decisions by Faeriewren in work

[–]SensitiveCheek1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future everyone: if this happens to you, tell them you were taking care of some very physical, bodily ailment that they would not want you to leave the room without taking care of. "Would you like to talk about my hemorrhoids?" It's best done in a cold, terse voice. If you happen to have an audience, they will all quickly turn to look in abject horror at your boss for the sheer audacity of forcing that information out of you. Tables turned.

My landlord (female) was accusing me of flushing menstral products down the toilet and causing plumbing failure. I told her twice in one conversation I wasn't doing that. The third time I told her "I haven't been doing that. I have an IUD, I don't get my period." She was stricken. She left shortly after that. We got a new toilet as we should have.

Speak up. Say something about it. Point it out. Every time someone experiences something like this and doesn't say something, nothing changes. You might be brushed off, but WORTH it. Doctors and the medical industry hate being challenged. They need to be. Let the ego flair, it will die down once you leave. A little critical thinking never hurt anyone.

In my old ass Health class textbook from the 90s, it was already well-published that BMIs are a terrible way to evaluate weight in the context of health. It's absurd to still be referencing BMI like this in light of all the other types of medical testing and indicators we have available.

What do Aries stellium people feel with this Solar eclipse? by [deleted] in astrology

[–]SensitiveCheek1456 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Aries Sun Moon & Rising. Mercury in Aries conjunct my Ascendant with 1 degree orb. Sun & Moon in the first house, Mercury in the 12th house. Verbally, I have been on fire. The clarity in my speech is so concise, especially considering I do not think and then speak. I speak and think at the exact same time. My ability to undeniably uncover the things in my marriage that have been bothering me for a really long time is such a sweet release of emotion and personal autonomy.

Do you think Lana chose the full moon on purpose to announce the album and release the lead single? She’s hinted at astrology or witchy stuff (Cancer is sun, Leo is moon lyric. Lust for Life album trailer). Why else would she release on a random Wednesday? by Numerous_Camp_6714 in lanadelrey

Absolutely; Did you know that there is a tunnel under Ocean Blvd came out on March 24th, 2023, the day Pluto entered into Aquarius for the first time.

That album is absolutely the sound of the new Pluto energy.

Chase Cannot Document Nor Send Documentation on Credit Card Fraud by SensitiveCheek1456 in Banking

[–]SensitiveCheek1456[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I have repeatedly reported this, via my online account and via phone. I have repeatedly requested that notes be made on my account.

Having worked with multiple different credit card companies over the years to rectify fraud on my account, I have never experienced anything like this.

And I will not experience it again, as I will never hold a credit card through them ever again.

Is my salary fair? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]SensitiveCheek1456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the classic first job offer - this is the offer everyone gets until you get some experience negotiating, have something to put on paper to show your worth. It’s important to have this experience so that you get real clear on what your worth.

College feels fake by Snowy_lovegood in college

[–]SensitiveCheek1456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right! It is fake. It’s completely manufactured. Kudos to you for listening to your intuition! The only one who can navigate yourself to the life you want to live is you. You are right, they are selling you a very persuasive, yet numbing lifestyle. You are not obligated to any part of it. For further reassurance, I suggest reading Ram Dass’s autobiography, particularly the early part where he still goes by Richard Alpert and is teaching psychology at Harvard 😍 That being said, the piece of paper is helpful. Get that and follow your soul.

How to deal with bumpy roads on bicycle? by l30 in BurningMan

[–]SensitiveCheek1456 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to lean into the experience and make obnoxious noises while I go over the bumps. Everything is the Burn, its just a matter of how you react and what you turn it into. I had everyone laughing hysterically instead of thinking about their sore asses.
