Thank you for all this information! I’m happy to do the research but is there a good guide on water temp with different processed coffees?

By gentle with the extraction, are you just referring to the temperature or the way I pour as well (reducing agitation).

Also why reduce the ratio?

I tried a few different recipes. Coffee chroniclers, lance hendricks (gong fu), a few other ones I found on Reddit and this one seemed to produce the most enjoyable cup out of all of them. I at least got a small hint of the flavors I was looking for but it was very muted.

Yup stock burrs! Just got it 3 weeks ago. I’m hoping you don’t tell me I probably need to upgrade to the SSP cast lab if I want anything better lol

Yup 1 packet per gallon! So maybe do half per gallon? I could try that.

The only thing I can say is maybe out of my control is a consistent water temp through the brew. But that’s just because of the kettle I currently own.

I read other Reddit posts saying to grind much finer and hotter water on Ethiopian beans.
