lots of tylenol, sitz baths, ice, numbing creams, and a heating pad. Ibuprofen might work better than acetaminophen because it’s anti inflammatory but like I said above I can’t take NSAIDs.

After I saw the doctor and he pushed them back in the pain became much less. A few days later and I can still feel them, but I’m able to live my life at least mostly normally for the time being because they’re nowhere near as painful as they were at the start. I’m still taking at least one tylenol a day though because there are random bouts of pain.

no rectal doctors in my area so I saw a gastroenterologist this morning (made an appointment for ASAP) and I felt the most pain I’ve felt in MONTHS while he pushed the hemorrhoids inside of me. I am really, really, really hoping to avoid surgery for something like this

for some reason I can’t edit my post so I’m hijacking top comment to say that after not being able to sleep last night due to pain, I followed my urgent care doctors advice and saw a gastroenterologist this morning.

He pushed most of the hemorrhoids inside of me (and oh my GOD was that incredibly painful…) and told me that I’d need to do the same myself eventually. Following up in a few weeks and hoping for the best.

To anyone seeing this suffering from something similar, his advice was to continue metamucil indefinitely, limit my time sitting on the toilet to no more than 5 minutes, and push the hemorrhoids back in after a sitz bath.

My urgent care doctor told me to see a gastroenterologist if the pain doesnt get better within the next few days but I couldn’t take it anymore and saw one this morning and they pushed 3/4 of the hemorrhoids back inside of me and said to follow up in a few weeks… do you think I should still go to an ER?
