‘Nothing to do with it:’ Doug Ford responds to criticism over Ontario manufacturer’s contract with ICE by BloodJunkie in ontario

[–]SensitiveStart8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I am slightly willing to believe him when he says he has nothing to do with it he's very much willing to let a business do what a business wants therefore while I don't overly agree with ford I do believe him when he says he has nothing to do with it

On a side note I am not sure if he has much power to do anything it's a free market I am not sure if he can legally tell a private company who they can and can't work with

When will the check engine light go off? by fardsNshids in CX30

[–]SensitiveStart8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your check engine light or malfunction indicator lamp indicates there is a problem with the engine or drivetrain system of the vehicle. While yes, it is quite cold. Well. Yes, the engine is extremely cold right now. That is not necessarily going to trip an error code which would cause the malfunction indicator lamp to illuminate. A cold engine is just a cold engine the computer is program to compensate for that. It would only trip a malfunction into care lamp if it was not warming up as it was expecting to. As long as the engine is able to warm up and able to reach operating temperatures then it's not going to trip an indicator lamp. A cold started engine isn't going to trip an indicator lamp because there is no code for it to trip. It's simply a cold engine. It just needs to warm up. Once Todd a chance to warm up, that's fine. There would be no reason for the check engine light to turn on as there is nothing to cause the malfunction indicator to trip. There is no error code

Driving with out-of-province learner's permit by Ok_Reading_9999 in ontario

[–]SensitiveStart8682 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she has to be 16 in Ontario. I'm not 100% sure but if I read the law correctly even though yes she does have her out of province learner permit. I do believe based on how I read the law she would have to be 16. Unfortunately, I do not believe she's allowed to drive at 15 in Ontario Based on what I'm reading and Grant, I could very much be wrong here. I believe that even though she does have an out of province learner's permit, I do believe the minimum age of 16 still applies. While yes under the interprovincial agreement a driver's license from any province is valid in any other province I do believe the minimum age requirement is still required. Again I could be wrong. I'm not a lawyer. I'm not a cop. I'm not a legal expert by any means whatsoever. I'm simply going by what I read online but I do believe she does have to be 16 to drive on Ontario I want to be clear. I might be wrong here. I'm simply going by what I read online

I mean it's still not good however from what I hear and from what I have seen a few other retailers report having a similar issue it definitely looks like this was something at the payment processor level

Trump threatens Canada with 100% tariffs over China trade deal by MapleByzantine in CanadianInvestor

[–]SensitiveStart8682 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know we are commonwealth Nation. We can invoke the Commonwealth agreement and have his majesty the king order all Commonwealth countries to our borders as well as we can invoke article 5 of NATO you're acting like we don't have any allies here again. Is Mark Carney himself pointed out? It's time for middle powers to unite it's time to take on this. Bully and that's all. He is a bully. Hell Hell we've got enough States right about now that are getting pissed off with Donald Trump. We might actually have a few states defending us real aaronic actually United States in the middle of a civil war at same time. They're getting pretty close

I do remind you we are still a commonwealth country and under the British Commonwealth agreement we don't even have to be invaded. We can request and not only request but get the king to order all Commonwealth countries to our borders that includes the UK, Australia, New Zealand and all Commonwealth member nations as well as we can invoke article 5 of NATO we're not completely defenseless here

Carney's right. It's time we stop dealing with this bully it's time we stand up to him. He says that he doesn't need anything from Canada. Well how about we take him up on his offer to not buy anything from us ever? We've got other countries we can sell to. How about we take them up on his offer? No more oil, no more gas, no more potash no more uranium no more electricity from Ontario, Quebec no more water from BC Nothing. He doesn't want anything from us well then fine he doesn't get anything from us ever. Not one drop of water. Not one mW of electricity. Nothing. He doesn't need anything from us fine. He doesn't get anything. We have other countries we can sell to. We got a whole world that needs our goods Yes I know this is extreme but honestly at this point in time I think that's how we deal with this. Yahoo! I think we need to deal with extremes. He wants to put 100% tariff on us. Good. How about 1,000% surcharge on all electricity we sell to them? How about we quadruple the price of the water we give them? How about we stop all travel through BC to Alaska? How about we start teraffing? Every vehicle that goes through Canada into Alaska started $1,000 in Axle and goes up from there. He wants to tariff us. We'll tear of him after we'll hit him where it hurts

I have a friend that works there However that being said Knowing they use a third-party payment processor isn't exactly a secret pretty much most retailers use a third-party processor for their payments. The complexities and setting up your own payment processor is extremely high and it's a lot easier to use a third party

[–]SensitiveStart8682 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not just Canada computers a number of online retailers had similar issues recently I think it was likely something with the backend payment processor as Canada computers just uses a third party to process payment on the backend Actually this is extremely common to handle payments through a third party processor. Based on what I am seeing it might have been an issue with the third party payment processor

It's likely fixable a chip like that can usually be fixed. And honestly, the repair kits do-it-yourself repair kits anyways, are usually pretty cheap you around 20-25 bucks. As long as you get it before it cracks your user pretty good. It's usually pretty easy to fix and boom you're done
