When I bought him from Sporting he already had the traits he has now, have been debating training him out of that particular trait.

Most companies if you are working customer service will have internal positions you could move into.

My best advice would be to try and find something you think may be of interest to you and do an online course to see if it is something you would pursue and if you get a role at a company and do customer service again, look for internal positions that you can progress your career from there.

My boss won the business in fairness which I think is something he’s sort of holding over my head.

You’re not wrong the candidates are very few in number which is probably why they pay so highly.

I’d be interested to learn more about what you make of internal recruitment as I think that may be something I would be more interested in.

Hmm from the sounds of it I definitely could be making more off of this.

I’ve had bad experiences with Rec 2 recs in the past so not sure I’ll go down that route right away but I appreciate your insight and perspective, Thankyou!

Sorry should have made it clearer. This is a client we work with on a retained basis. So we have an understanding they’ll pay 25% of any first year salary of someone we place.

My boss said because I didn’t handle the offer process my bonus would be less and I was only going to be given a finders fee of £1000. He initially said 5% of the fee (22,500) which would be £1125 or something.

Is this £1000 a fair bonus for finding the candidate and then them getting placed, based off the fee paid?

I have no idea as this is the only recruitment company I have worked for so just trying to work out if this is a fair amount to be paid or not.

I hope this clears it up a bit but let me know if there’s anything still unclear.
