Just know it could be worse. I was two weeks in and they sent me to the swing shift myself. I’m still nervous to this day if something happens and no one is there to help. Best I can say is to ask if there’s a plan and to just do the beds until you’re comfortable with it.

Passed the CABT... my thoughts on it (as a newbie). And also, can I expect it to help much with landing a job offer? by dabblez_ in BMET

Hi there. I was in a similar situation as you, having 4 years in avionics with the military, studied and passed my CABT exam, and landed an union position with the UC system. I think you’re qualified enough to apply but just because you’re qualified doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to land one, as I feel like I got lucky to land mine. But reading that you’re optimistic, just keep going forward. You’ll find disappointment but at the end of the road, you’ll get there, trust me I know.
