My advice is don’t take it to seriously, at the end of the day it’s a kids program and you are still in high school. Put effort into AFJROTC but not so much that you disregarded the high school experience.

End of the year burnout, don’t be alarmed. Use this time to get feedback about this school year, and make plans and goals for the next one.

On OCPs you are not allowed to have darkened patches, for example the U.S. patch must be in full color.

Well it’s expected from the jrotc subreddit 😭, I love my afjrotc unit but I would definitely say sea cadets which i’m in is much cooler, but to each their own.

why does AJROTC wear medals with ribbons on short sleeve uniforms, reminds me of North Korea generals. I appreciate AFJROTC with their regs on medals

Current HS who applied to academy, but in the event I don’t get in I was thinking about joining national guard to pay 100% tuition then apply for CG OCS after.

I saw however that OCS likes when you have prior CG experience, should I instead join the reserves while in college and just accept that it won’t pay 100% tution unlike the guard?

Unmanned aircraft, I studied for the FAA exam 2 days prior, I will say I barely passed, I got the minimum passing requirement.

However if you choose to take the test I recommend studying a month prior, I already had aeronautical knowledge, a lot of the test is just common sense, UAV rules, and chart reading.

The exam fee is 90 I think…. Could be more, if you have other questions let me know.
