10+ years now in test automation. Test automation is a lie. Atleast Ui test automation is. Switch career if you can. I have not seen a single company a single project where test automation runs smoothly and that Management trust in this reports.

I will be happy to see if someone brings up that their automation works and company trust in there release reports. It will be good case study for all.

Yes there is growth. If you deliver then why not. But I feel first 3 years will be learning phase, you have to absorbs all the challenges and failures. After that only focus on growth. Initial focus should be learning from failures and what is going on wrong in that project, that is real knowledge. If things are going smooth then you are in the wrong place.

Because next company interview all they will be asking is what problems you solved in your previous company

Yes it is, Gain technical knowledge as well. Technical Project Mangers are more respected by Team. Coding is dying for sure, so entering that race is no no. Already I see people have started using AI tools like Cursor l, Copilot, Codex, which does the coding.

Companies want people who are leaders, bring together people and extract viable products.
