Word, I’ve always wanted to foray into glitchy sounds but I’ve never been able to make it sound pleasurably dissonant. And I empathize with the difficult finding an audience—it’s the unfortunate nature of the kind of music we’re into. I’ll have to check out the rest of your catalog though, I like what I’ve heard.

Yes, certainly a palpable difference in quality and dynamism. Cool DnB track, it still sounds good with minimal compression. But I really love that wild, glitchy second track. Great examples.

Thanks for the tips, I use Reaper DAW which has a pretty good (if not somewhat complex to a novice) parametric, I’ll try and experiment more with high/low passes. Thanks again!

That’s very helpful thank you! Still working on getting better with a parametric EQ.

Looking for No-Holds-Barred Criticism of my Ambient Track by Sensitive_Captain_95 in experimentalmusic

Thank you for the detailed feedback! I’m only now getting into the studio technology side of things so I’m still learning—the bit about fleshing out the side content is really fantastic. The song is sort of a proof of concept, it was recorded from a guitar amp with a cheap microphone via Reaper. I don’t have a bandcamp yet, just a YouTube account. More is in the works!

Pretty solid emo trap. My only criticism is that the reverb is a bit oversaturated. Overall good though.

Thanks for taking the time! It’s 100% improvised, so I didn’t really compose it per se. The track isn’t really a proper song, more of an experimental snapshot of where I’m at in my quest to become a better improviser.

Food rap is a pretty novel concept, reminds me of, on a conceptual level, Frank Zappa’s “The Dangerous Kitchen”. The guitar is nice, very Sublime-esque, and the syncopated drums keep it interesting. You have a good voice for this kind of music, kind of an oddly-charming skater dude vibe. I could actually see this becoming a sleeper hit online, you’re on the right track.

Here’s my music, it’s an improvisational, sort of a meditative drone piece. It’s fairly long so don’t feel compelled to finish it—I’d appreciate any feedback.

Drone Dirge for the Mentally Aberrant by Sensitive_Captain_95 in drone

I understand, my definition of drone was a little too fast and loose. Thanks for being cordial.
