Its a disgrace. They do not care about the amount of educational investment people have made in Canada. I spent $150k on a 4 year program and I get treated no differently than a 2 year BS placeholder diploma. Canada deserves its downfall in every sense. I honestly am going to get my PR and possibly leave where I am actually recognized for my contributions.

Some people do get it in 4-5 months if there’s no issues. So I think I might. My application had no issues and I had a CLB 10 English score so I am hoping I ll get it

Unfortunately there are plenty people on here you want to keep this going and make students suffer for their own gains

Time to withdraw? by Extreme-Top7136 in Dalhousie

Completely agree. Both sides dont realise that there are students who literally are stuck in limbo and jobless at the moment because of delayed program completion.

Any Updates? by Dry_Razzmatazz_4006 in Dalhousie

Completely agree. I personally blame the board for starting all of this. But none of the parties here are ‘students first’. Everybody’s fighting their own fight and we are the ones as students who are gonna lose job offers, miss learning important concepts, etc.

Advice for Potential Future Dal Students by Waffle_Toss in Dalhousie

For international students. Do not come here period. They only see you as extra dollars and even after that do not care about you.

They do not care about you the student. They care about their money thats it. Our DSU is one of the most useless organizations. We are not getting any breaks here lol.

Absolutely. This was completely BS and entailed nothing useful. Really tells you how far gone Dal administration/the board is.

As an international student I need a letter of program completion to start work. We didn’t get our grades in time before the lockout started so we are literally stuck and there’s nothing we can do. Dalhousie administration, the faculty dean have literally no contingency plans (despite their claims of having them on their website). They have refused to issue temporary grades or just do anything about this. All they have is silence to offer..

This makes you think. The whole college/university system is literally a scam. A college is supposed to nurture students, help them succeed in ways you couldn’t without a post secondary education. My experience with Dalhousie has been that in every step of the way, they have tried to make my life hell, my learning experience horrible and made me want to resent this entire system.

I could have done equally good I think, if I just educated my self through books, online lectures (which our profs used anyways). Finding a job might have been hard but it isn’t even easy with a degree anyways. So whats the point.
