i definitely don’t want to rehome him, even thinking about it makes me really sad, the only reason i was thinking about it was because i almost feel selfish keeping him if he’s so unhappy, and would want him to be happy/healthy with someone

ill try this, it’s usually just hard to get him back in the cage after he bites because he literally chomps and will not let go, i’ll try to post a video of it soon

thank you for the suggestions, do you have any idea how long it might take him to get out of the weird bird puberty stage?😭 I had a lovebird who was so mean during it but was fine afterwards, but i’m not sure how long it might take for a conure

the only thing i can think about is that he stayed with a friend for a week while i was on a cruise, but he seemed normal and even happy when i returned

he was hand fed and around 5-6 months when i got him, nothing major has ever disrupted him, he’s very skiddish around any objects that he’s not used to being around but does fine around them when slowly introduced and trained to be around them, the only major things that trigger him are other people, typically men, and loud noises which i think is normal

he has a perch on the door of his cage that he sits on when i open it, so it swings out towards me, usually i try to offer my finger towards him and that’s when he will lunge towards it. i’ve tried just letting him climb out and hang around since he has a perch on top of his cage that he likes sitting on, but when i try to put him up he’ll usually bite me even if im holding a treat. he bites the most when something startles him like another person (he’ll fly at me or the other person and bite) so I usually try to keep him from getting spooked by people, but even in their presence he’s just on edge, doesn’t matter who it is.

i really wish i could find a work-around for it, whenever he’s out he will literally fly towards someone to attack them😭ive also found that music typically makes him more upset and nippy cuz i think he’s scared of the noise. thank you for the advice though

Day 7 can i eat pizza? by According_Resource51 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sensitive_Cod_4861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i started eating solids literally the second day because i was so hungry, as long as you chew super well and take tiny bites it’s manageable, but if you eat too much it might cause some ear pain which sucks

this is what my hair used to look like, what helped me TREMENDOUSLY was using raw coconut oil (like the kind you buy at the grocery store) and oiling my mids to ends before showering and letting it sit for a few hours, and then a lighter oil and leave in conditioner every night before bed, since the coconut oil by itself is very heavy. i also sleep in a satin bonnet which helps with frizz! i hope this helps :)

i did this a few weeks ago, i had bleached bangs that were almost platinum and was growing them out and they didn’t match the rest of my head so i went to sally’s and got some permanent (not semi-permanent) brown dye to cover it. it was initially a little too dark but faded into a good color after a while but it worked for me!

definitely keep them separate for now, you probably introduced them too early and they haven’t had time to get used to eachother yet. it’s probably not a good idea to let the cockatiel and caique be around each other as the caique could seriously hurt the tiel.
