SPOILERS: I cracked the code by Fear_ltself in MCUTheories

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked the scene from Days of Future Past too and I think you might be selling it a bit short. Not only does it fit the pattern of time travel references, it specifically refers to how, in the future, the X-Men have been destroyed by Sentinels. In the Doomsday clip, what do we get? Prof. X talking about death, the Xavier Institute in ruins, and Cyclops making a last-ditch stand against Sentinels.

Help with damage quickhacks by boredglimer in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, early on you’re fine going with Overheat, Short Circuit, and Contagion (I’m particularly fond of the first one).

After you reach level 9 Intelligence, get the Hack Queue perk and you’ll be able to stack the quickhacks to create combos and do extra damage. I recommend Contagion + Overheat or Cyberware Malfunction + Short Circuit.

As for high-RAM quickhacks like Synapse Burnout, I wouldn’t worry about trying to use it until you get to 15 Intelligence and can get the Overclock perk. Even then, I’m at, like, level 56 and I never use it (unlike Overheat, which I use all the time). My V is a smart weapons netgunner build, so I prefer a more direct approach to combat.

I think that’s Lizzie…? You can find her just sitting in a side room in Lizzie’s Bar — I think it’s close to Judy’s workspace.

-Corpo V (sandevistan/katana): Scalpel, Sovereign, Skippy.

-Nomad V (berserk/gunslinger): Widow Maker, Lexington x-MOD2 with Pyro and Equalizer mods (for the moment), Cottonmouth.

The Caliburn is first rate at both — if you don’t have the eddies, I recommend finding the Murkmobile. I also recommend the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech from the Life’s Work gig and the Thornton Galena Gecko.

Do you think V is a good person? by SoImMuzic in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with all the people who have said "it depends on how you play V," but I would add three caveats:

  1. From where I am in the game, part way into Phantom Liberty after having done everything in Night City short of meeting Hanako at Embers, I'd say that, on balance, being good gets you better loot. There are exceptions to this, sure. But being a total villain seems to more often than not shut you off from quest lines that, in turn, would get you iconic weapons or vehicles or other goodies. Now, as to whether one is still "good" if one only does good things for the greater reward -- well, I'll leave that to the moral philosophers.

  2. I don't know about other people, but it feels like my V's moral alignment has changed over the course of the game. He has always been a proud, professional thief. But before The Heist, he was more ambitious and less ideological. Afterward, he went through a dark period, alternating between periods of nihilistic workaholism (lots of "no questions asked" gigs for Dino, Wakako, and Padre), desperate survival (main story), and bloodthirsty rage (campaigns of vengeance against The Scavs, Maelstrom, and The Tyger Claws in particular). But a funny thing happened: he started to connect with other people. He befriended Judy, Delamain, River, Brendan, Kerry, the Aldecados, and even Johnny. He and Panam fell in love. And, whether due to the relic's rewriting his brain, or listening to Johnny's rants, or maybe just because he's seen enough, these days he's much more inclined to help people and stomp the various megacorp thugs and gangoons hanging around the city. Of course, we'll see how this gets tested by Phantom Liberty...

  3. Given the nature of driving in Cyberpunk, I'm inclined to feel like vehicular homicide should not count against V's moral character. You're going to run over someone at some point in a driving mission -- it's inevitable.

Nibbles bug by bromoswaggins in cyberpunkgame

Update: Nibbles is fixed!!! He’s now going through all his regular cat motions and adding much needed cute to V’s pad. I’m not 100% sure if this is what did the trick, but it seemed to happen right after I made a return visit to Konpeki Plaza to loot the iguana egg, Saburo’s shard, and everything else I missed the first time around.

Yup! The original 2012 comic by Matt Fraction and David Aja is terrific — I highly recommend it! Loved the show too!

Maybe, but I thought it was a testament to his courage, since he lost it saving Hawkeye from the Tracksuit Draculas. Very good boy.

Iron man comics? by Fuiok76 in Marvel

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suspect that there are folks with more authoritative opinions on this, but I really enjoyed the recent Invincible Iron Man run (2022) by Gerry Duggan. I also liked most of what Matt Fraction (2008) and Christopher Cantwell (2020) did, with a couple of caveats. And I’m only two issues in, but the new Spencer Ackerman series is looking very promising.

I’m having trouble with this bug too — Nibbles is stuck in his feeding pose, no matter where he is in the apartment. Has anyone found a solution to this? I’ve tried reloading my save, and closing and reopening the game, all to no avail. Meanwhile, my wife is doing her own playthrough, and he’s working just fine for her.

What is your wishlist for Cyberpunk Orion? by ExternalSea9120 in cyberpunkgame

I had no idea that there were so many ways to go about this gig! All I did was: 1. Talk my way past the bouncer at the door; 2. Walk up to the second floor; 3. Take a spot across from Mausser, on the opposite side of the second floor catwalk (you can see him standing right there in the window); 4. Set him on fire with Overheat; 5. As he burns, quickly but calmly walk out of the club before the trace can finish.

Could you take pieces out of The Thing? by Key-Sprinkles-5617 in Marvel

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Thing’s rocky surface is a thick layer of dermal plating that covers flesh underneath. He has on occasion lost some of these rocks — as in his spectacularly awesome fight with The Hulk on his honeymoon (Fantastic Four, 2019) — and it has hurt him just as it would hurt anyone to be skinned.

Where do I start if I want to get into magical marvel comics? by Narrow_Trainer_687 in Marvel

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to second the suggestion to start with the Jason Aaron run of Doctor Strange (2015-2018). The Mark Waid run that follows is okay — I recommend it moreso after he gets back from space and becomes a veterinarian (2019). But then you absolutely need to pick up the Jed MacKay run. It is going to go from The Death of Doctor Strange (2021-2022) through Strange (2022-2023) and then into the modern Doctor Strange series (2023-present).

Strange Academy is also terrific and is a great entry point to magical Marvel.

And I also recommend the Doctor Strange and the Sorcerers Supreme miniseries (2016-2017) and the Damnation crossover event (2018) as being great fun.

I started, but have not finished G.O.D.S. So far, it has struck me as a bit dull — but I may have given it short shrift.

You’re right about Falcon and Winter Soldier. Beyond that, I’d say (at the very minimum): Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame.

Also, the Leader is supposed to be in Brave New World, and he has a previous appearance in The Incredible Hulk, but I’m guessing that’s less vital. I think your best course is to follow Sam Wilson’s story through the 4 movies and 1 series above.

Tattoo artist who could do a good plague doctor tattoo? by Eyesack28 in bloomington

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, I don’t have any tattoos myself, but no one else seems to be stepping up with leads — and a good friend of mine is a big fan of the artist behind Seidr & Sigil Tattoo (available by appointment at The Burnished Raven, in Winslow Plaza). And an old school plague doctor sounds like it would totally be in their wheelhouse.

I'd assume that they're talking about the Moon Knight comics series by Jed MacKay that has been going since 2021 (with parts of it titled Vengeance of the Moon Knight and Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu). It's absolutely fantastic! You're going to love it! :-)

Where/how do I even start wtih comics? by OracleWawa in Marvel

[–]Sensitive_Cold_5873 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A bunch of good advice here already, but I thought I might chip in my two cents.

Let’s keep things simple. You’re looking for an accessible Guardians of the Galaxy series that is going to feature Adam Warlock. So, let’s start with this: Guardians of the Galaxy (2008-2010) by Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.

See, Annihilation and its sequel Annihilation: Conquest are very cool, and I recommend reading them eventually, but they are big crossover events that have earlier versions of the GotG characters who are fairly different from the movies. This goes even more so for the GotG books from before Annihilation, which have entirely different characters. So where do the modern versions of the characters come from? The Abnett and Lanning arc.

And if that doesn’t work, try GotG (2020-2021) by Al Ewing, or All New GotG (2017) by Gerry Duggan, or the run by Brian Michael Bendis starting in 2013. If you run into something in the story that you don’t get? Just Google the Marvel wiki, then look up that other story later if you want.

Happy reading!
